Re: coated braid
I use Suffix 832 15lb braid on my spinning set-ups and its worked out great and casting distance is pretty darn good on my older stradic.

Re: Help with longer moderate chatterbait, blade rod
I've used many chatterbaits on many rods and the DX744, even though labeled as a Fast works great for chatterbait!
I have a PIII Nautilus and its a great rod, but like the DX744 better for this bait ( granted, I throw larger swimbaits as trailers)

Re: Phenix Production K2
Sure... In October... LOL. The release of this rod has been a joke! Can't please everyone. They have them at a previous iCast then get railed for design. CAN'T STAND exposed thread on a rod, looks unfinished. I'll take the few extra grams of weight and have a hood!

Re: Daiwa Luvias best spinning reel under $250?
No way would I pick a Luvias over a new stradic (not ci4+). Anything beneath a a Certate (which I really liked using while smallie fishing on a guide trip) from Daiwa can't match the performance of the Stradic, it's been that way for awhile.

Stanlet makes a good one, I can't remember the name off hand. The pond magic is a great lure too!

back reeling? Psshhhh... nevah. That's what a smooth drag is for. I see it as a worthless feature for my uses.

I agree! Cork looks the same quality has my omen... And that cork was pretty rough... Even for 100$ for!
