Re: Chronarch D and Core/JDM applications
From what I have read the Core 100MG7 is basically a non flipping version of the MGFV which I have use for my heavy braid applications. It also has brass gearing, is high speed and has 11lbs of drag which should be more than enough for Frogging. It doesn't really get more dependable than the Core se...

The 100 was great for me but it was too limited in it's casting control as I came to be better a...

Re: Crankbait reel
The only bb1 that doesn't have anti reverse is the 5.1:1 model. If you put a medium speed bb1 on there it would have the anti reverse...The rod isn't really suited for deep divers so a medium speed retrieve model should work just fine.

Re: Crankbait reel
I can't speak to the lexa as I do not own one however I own several lew's reels. I actually have the exact same rod and being alittle ocd with my tackle I have tinkered and changed reels on it continually in order to get the best and most balanced setup possible. I had a tournament MG and it is an a...

Re: Daiwa Samurai Braid
I have heard that this line is rated specifically compared to other brands. Namely, other brands rate on the low side of the pd test breaking strength. So 65lb Power Pro will actually break around 80lbs whereas Samurai Braid rated at 65lb actually breaks at 65lbs. My question would be, can I upsize ...

Re: football Jig retrieve
In really deep water that I can't reach with a crankbait (and I hate to Carolina Rig), I throw a big football and then swim it back to the boat. I saw KVD and Tommy Biffle do it and it actually worked well for me on some occasions. Surprising really but worth a shot.
