There is someone around that does put sv inductors on non sv spools. I don't know his name but I think he has posted it somewhere on tt.

What he does is file off the legs on the ramp and superglue it in place.

I had the same thoughts as you when I got mine.

But have tested it out on some big fish and no problems what so ever. 100% lock drag kinda fishing.

Not only does a hlc spool have the strong spring.
It also has a short mag z inductor.

The steez hlc spool isn't supposed to be as good as it sounds and I bet the zpi pg would be better.
The og zillion hlc spool is where it's at with hlc spools.

If your getting the zpi and want a matching side plate bearing for the sv103 (og zillion frame) get one as well. The one that comes along (besides the one one the spool itself) will fit in the stock spool but not the side plate. fyi...

If your using the latest model ci4 the fk is identical except in material.

As for a source it's probably best to go to a shimano repair place or shop and ask them to order for you. It will work out cheaper.

Perhaps check if the brake ramp closest to the middle of the spool is black or white in colour.

If its black change it out to the white ramp found in the zillion sv tw

Some of the yumeya spools will fit too but it's going to be almost as much as the reel.

The older OG version has better QC and quality.

I am interested in this topic as well I noted so far no one's; go to, is the SV103 with zillion G1 1016 or ZPI NRC PG spool. IS the SV103 even tuned not a good candidate covering large bodies of water, bomb casting. Thx Trevor Imo the sv103 with a zpi pg is great I haven't tried it with above 1/2oz...

Well it's a black ci4 with an extra bearing on the spool and on the clicker area with an extra one on the knob...something to that extent.

I wasn't impressed with my stradic FB at all. Snapped both the idle gears in less than 5 sessions...

Tried out the sv103 stock spool with alphas sv inductor and hlc spring. Certainly less choked than the stock inductor and slightly faster. Might have to try the g1 slp sv after all. I did some spool testing the other day in my steez sv tw. The zillion G1 1016 sv spool was a better overall spool vs ...
