Both the dc reels and sv reels are both excellent for skipping, i use both and would be hard pressed to pick one over the other.....

Im pretty anal when it comes to balancing a rod, as most of my rods are around the 7ft5 mark give or take an inch or two...The ones that dont balance well, i have a rubber chair cap with quarter or two....only do this with rods that are for tip up techniques....i have stripped a couple 894nrxs split...

Probably my 894nrx with 1/2 jigs and plastics, a close second this year was my 892c glx- caught a ton of fish on shakey heads...

I have the 7ft2xh and have a frog tied on and the 7ft6h with a jig tied on..... hope to be getting out this weekend..... they seem pretty well built, i saw a you tube video how strong they are.... they were lifting some heavy weights off the ground with them
