Rod for 1/16 jigs and soft plastics.
I have a G Loomis CR842-2 with a Daiwa SS Air I use to trout fish with. Now I am looking for a rod for stream smallmouth throwing 1/16 jigs and soft plastics. The Loomis does not have the butt strength to deal with smallmouth. I am thinking that a Phenix Recon Elite 682 would fit the bill. What do y...

Re: Long Light Power Rod
I bought a Fenwick Eagle 8' UL Moderate action for real cheap. Not going to last that long in my quiver, fairly dead rod for drifting baits. My dad yesterday broke his rod trout fishing. I had the Eagle in the car. I gave him my RiverRunner and fished the Eagle. I really liked the length and action ...

Long Light Power Rod
I am looking for a light or ultralight power moderate action rod. I am going to use this rod to fish night crawlers weightless on trout streams. Micro Power Pro for a mainline and fluorocarbon leaders. Needs to be at least 8 ft.

Right on, that is what I am going to be looking for this spring. The SS Air you sold me needs a new rod, I think?

MajorCraft Rod finally here?
I was browsing the web looking for a new pike rod as mine is an old Lightning Rod Hank Parker that I have had since I was 13 or 14, about 15 years. I went to the Major Craft America site to look the Nanoace specs, and was pleasantly surprised to see the Corzza, MS-X, and Speedstyle listed on the sit...

New trout rod for my father.
I am looking for a rod for my father. He wants a 6'6" to 7" rod for trout in the 130-150$$ range. He was thinking St Croix Premeir but I know that rod is to soft for his liking. I was thinking 6'9" Fenwick RR Light power. Any other options?

Re: Fly fishing for carp
Definitely do not need a sinking line. Floating line will suffice, depending on the size of the fish I would start with a 6wt. I fish a 5wt some places, and some places an 8wt. Looking for fish in the shallows that have there nose down and tail up. Tailing much like a bonefish or redfish. Damsel fly...

Re: Interested in a new rod...
I have been fishing the 6'9" Light power ET RR. Last weekend I was casting a 1/48 oz jig and a 2" Power minnow for trout. On 4lb mono. Decent sized fish are manageable. Caught some small LM bass on it also. It is my current favorite.
