Re: Steez SV TW castability compared to Tat SV TW

Thank you everyone for your input and feedback! I have multiple Metaniums, Aldebarans, etc. as well as two Tatula SV TWs that I think perform and cast well at their price point. I owned a Steez SV and appreciated its refinement, but for some reason casting distance was just average. The smaller size...

Steez SV TW castability compared to Tat SV TW

Hello, can someone please tell me how the Steez SV TW casting performance compares to the Tat SV TW? I imagine that the steez handles lighter baits better but do they perform similarly in general and is distance similar? Thanks in advance!

Re: Steez xt frog rod?

Yes, it's not a very light rod if you put it on a scale, but well balanced like you said. I don't really find it to be tip heavy even with a Metanium XG.

Re: Steez xt frog rod?

I've used it extensively for frogs and have been very happy with it. On a few occasions I fished a jig with it, and it did perform well.

Re: Shimano Loomis Conquest rods

Not sure if I missed it, but have any comments be made comparing the CNQ 844c and NRX 854c? Is the CNQ 843c closer to NRX 854c in terms of power? Thanks!

Re: Sunline FX2 froggin

I will echo many of the positive comments - strong, good diameter and holds its color very well. For years I have pulled big fish out of heavy slop with the 50lb with XH frog rod and have never had an issue.

Re: Livetarget Baitball spinner

Very limited first impression with the 3/8 - I only made a few casts with it, but it had lots of action and looked surprisingly good in the water. Also worked well without fouling up, so my initial impression was positive.

Re: Braid That Keeps Its Color

I find that Sunline SX1 and FX2 retain color longer than most.

Re: candlewood lake ct

I don't have much experience or knowledge of the place, but I highly recommend giving it a try based on a trip I took there one August...water temps were 80° and boat traffic & fishing pressure was heavy...still caught a bunch, with some of the large and smallmouths in the 4–5lb range on various tec...

It would sure be nice if we got USA Poison Adrenas. They did it before, why not again??

Aldebaran MGL

I absolutely love the 50HG, but I always wished there was a faster 50XG. With the 30 MGL update, I'm surprised that the 8:1 ratio is still not available?

Re: A rod like my Cumara..

The 854c is Fast action. (Personally I'm not a fan of XF for anything.) Has a little more power than the CUC72MHA, but similar in terms of light weight feel and sensitivity.

Re: A rod like my Cumara..

I'm also a fan of all cumara's, especially the model that you mention. The Loomis NRX 854c is one worth looking at. It is an inch shorter, and lighter at 3.9 oz vs. 4.1–4.2 oz. You won't give up anything in terms of sensitivity, balance or pitching prowess. The Heavy power also feels more like a MH ...

I could look past the aesthetics, but personally the weight is not too appealing. 225g for the XG seems really heavy. Sure it's got a bigger gear adding 5-10g, but the D7 was 215g and a bigger frame size?

Re: Curado 70XG drag & spool tension coming loose

Thanks for your reply—I set the drag tight, but not locked all the way down. Often times within the day, I find that it is really loose, and have missed some fish when I forget to check it. For spool tension, I tighten it enough to remove all spool side-to-side play, and it still works its way loose...
