Re: Short report on new Croix SCV 610 spinning rod
I'm still waiting for mine. St. Croix now says the end of June. I'm hoping it will fit between the 69mlxf and the 68mxf. There seems to be a big gap between those two, and the specs put it in that slot.

Re: Guides?
can't help you with the weight cause I don't use Recoils. Fuji guides are sized by the ID of the guide frame.

Re: About Rod Decals
Both types of decals require a coat of finish on the blank. For waterslides, I don't even dip them in water. I lay them face down on a piece of foil and drip distilled water, from an eyedropper, on the backer paper til it's covered. Let sit about a minute and slide it onto the blank. if you don't so...

Re: New St Croix SCV/Nsi blanks?
All the blanks aren't listed in the blanks section on-line. Download the PDF rodbuilders catalog. They're all in there.white03 wrote: Also I don't see a 5c72MHM blank listed as a casting rod? Am I missing it somehow?

Re: North Fork vs Loomis
ZBones blanks are built BY North Fork, but I do not believe that they are actual North Fork models.

Re: Daiwa baitcaster cork knobs
For for wood knobs, it would be pretty easy to do them without inserts. For cork, inserts are definitely needed.

From the lathe to snapping in the inserts, about an hour for the pair.........Not counting the time for the glue to dry.vArm wrote:How long does it take you guys to bang them out?

The Legend Tournaments have Chrome Alconite guides. Off the top of my head, I can't remember the tube size on the last one I built. Probably a CFAT6-4.5.

Re: Monkey Behavior
With my truck recently paid-off, it's been pretty hard to keep the monkey in line. Especially hard since I just sold most of my rods too. Have all winter to build the new ones!
Then there's the boat monkey. I don't even wanna go there!
