Re: Phenix ultra umbx 6'6 medium
Would anyone happen to have the any blank measurements? Really just curious how much power this it packs. I know the 7 foot medium light is close to 500 grams - 470 or something. I had a finished rod built on the 7'0 MH and it was a 2.5 power in Loomis speak. Also briefly had a 7'7" ML and it was l...

Re: Steez A revisited...
What is the difference between the two ZPI spools: NRC001M vs NRC001PG ? On the ZPI website, the only difference I can see is that they recommend 10-14 lb fluoro for the M and 16lb fluoro for the PG. Why is this the case? What makes the Steez SV spool better in the Steez A than the stock Steez A sp...

How many brakes on new Met MGL?
How many is a good jump off point for an experienced caster? I just got mine in the mail today from JPL. I heard it was a fast spool on here.

Re: Power ratings on new NFC X-Ray blanks?
Super odd...as I bought the SJ 736 and the MB 7109 Xrays. The SJ 736 is NOT a heavy. The way they label their blanks is mind-boggling. It is a medium heavy with a somewhat soft tip for the ratings. I planned on using it for T-rigs less than 1/2oz and I feel it will work well in that range. The MB 7...

Power ratings on new NFC X-Ray blanks?
Looking for a rod pretty much inline with a Loomis 893 or 894 so basically a MH at least if not a light heavy, but definitely not a meatstick. I know Kistler uses them but am unsure which blanks they use for which powers... In the past Gary had problems with rating his blanks to what the true powers...

Last order got me a micro sized MB crankbait that honestly is just collecting dust. In our communication exchange I hinted at a 110

Re: Daiwa Luvias vs. Certate
Exist is in clearance at tackle warehouse for 4ish if you haven’t already purchased a spinning reel, pretty good deal Yeah if you are good with a Zaion frame that deal would be where I'd look. If you can wait until Memorial Day it will go 15% off at least and put it around $340. It was the best Dai...

Re: Chronarch MGL interesting story
Just keep Shimano ACE2, or Cal's drag grease on the micro gears and it will remain smooth. This per Shimano. Are the micro gears supposed to lose smoothness faster than non-micro gears?...because if so that's kind of self-defeating :? And thanks I will pick some up for the Met MGL I just ordered. I...

Re: What size guides on a swimbait rod?
It depends on if you plan to throw braid-to-flouro/mono leaders at any point. Couldn't agree more. Guide size is very dependent on your line and/or connection knots, leaders, swivels, etc. Some people tend to believe the bigger the rod, the bigger the guides. That isn't the case. Its about line man...

What size guides on a swimbait rod?
Have had a lot of customs done, but am new to swimbaiting and don't currently have a designated swimbait stick. I'm going to build one on a NFC IM swimbait blank. Do they need larger guides than a typical rod? I was planning on 6's or 7's...but don't really know. Also for those who have experience w...

Re: Chronarch MGL interesting story
I went through the same thought process with my 13 Metanium and Chronarch CI4+. At the beginning, I did not see anywhere where the price difference was worth it performance wise but the longer I used both, the more I started to understand why the metanium is worth the extra money. It took a long ti...

Re: Steez A revisited...
I fished a Steez A since last fall and quickly found it to be a great reel. I tore it down and serviced it to my liking. It remains smooth and is an excellent casting reel, I have a multitude of spools to mess with which I enjoy. With extra spools I change from fishing clear water reservoirs to the...

Re: What’s your Finesse spinning rod?
I think I'll be adding a Steez AGS 76 M/ML to my collection too. That's the Steez rod I've heard the most positive stuff about. I would personally go NRX or Conquest for that coin but that rod I heard has a really nice action. (Could be the shorter dropshot rod but either way heard they were nice s...
