Re: To Spiral Or Not to Spiral... what is your preference?

I think they work for everything, but that’s just me. Ok, so theoretically I may (or not) see increased casting distance on a trap rod when bombing open water on a search and destroy mission and on a shorter squarebill rod I may see better accuracy when pinpointing precise targets ? Doesn't matter ...

Re: To Spiral Or Not to Spiral... what is your preference?

A bit late to this party but wondering if spiral wraps are feasible on a cranking / reaction bait rod or are they more for a contact type of presentation ?

Re: “Retiring” baits

I had a Bomber Square A crankbait that was one of 17,000,000 other ones just like it other than the fact that it had that “it” factor that the fish went crazy for. It retired to a penthouse roost about 50’ up in a tree  I watched that thing swinging in the breeze for months before winter set i...

Re: Ultralight Topwater

If you have an academy sports near you they have a house brand h2o express 5pc UL kit that has a little spook walking bait and a little prop bait that both weigh 3.35g on my scale. The other 3 baits are a shallow crank, deep crank and lipless crank all in the 3.2-3.5g range. Academy was one of the ...

Not much on looks but very effective at times is the smallest hollow tube you can find stuffed with a piece of foam such as from a disposable earplug and rigged with a light wire Aberdeen hook. There’s been summer nights where I went on a killing spree with that.

Re: Smoothest gear grease.

One place I find where TSI performs very well (besides bearings obviously) is the level wind. Debris does not stick to a TSI treated level wind shaft. I’m basing this on my waters which have a good amount of pollen and other organic materials which will quickly foul a greased level wind.
