Re: Daiwa RG2000H-AB Spinning Reel for Ultralight Fishing

Thanks guys! Great info. My budget was < $100 for the reel. After much thought I will probably go with the 13 Nasci 500hg or the Symetre 500FL.

The 2000 is listed at 7.9oz. Was thinking about the new Shimano Nasci 1000FB but its listed at 7.6oz. I don't want to spend Ci4+ prices for a UL reel

Re: Bearings for SV spools

I upgraded my Luna 103L to the SV1000 deep spool (drops right in). I upgraded to Hedgehog ZR bearings at the same time. I used 3x8x4 for the side plate and 5x11x4 for the spool. the earlier SV spools had 5mm(handle side) x 3mm (palm plate side) dia. shafts. most of the newer ones have 3mm x 3mm dia...

Daiwa RG2000H-AB Spinning Reel for Ultralight Fishing

Any thoughts about this reel (2000 size) for ultralight fishing?

Thinking about pairing one with a 5'6" or 6'0" Daiwa Presso UL rod.

Curious to see if Daiwa is going to use their SVF or HVF graphite.

Re: Newest Model Shimano Stradic Ci4+ Spinning Reel

I hear really good things about it. Love how light it is too. Planned on getting one but found a Saros locally for a good deal. The Saros was heavier than I wanted but couldn't pass it up.

If that's the case, I'll just leave that handle on then. Thanks Bantam1!

Shimano Saros 3000FA knob

Just wondering if the knob on the Saros 3000FA is removable. I took off the knob cap and it doesn't seem that it is. Would I need a whole new handle assembly from the 2500FA?
