Re: Plastic in reels
I will share a story about an inident I had late last week with a Type R Tatula. Was fishing and had way too many rods on deck and it was windy. I hit an underwater obstruction while on the trolling motor. I lost my balance and stepped right on top of a fairly new Type R with all my weight. Other th...

Re: Megabass Orochi XX do it all or most?
The Tour Versatile, EMTF, and Spinnerbait are all extremely versatile and great rods. Been testing them out as well as the Perfect Pitch and the flipping stick. Also have a JerkBait Special that seems to be good as a squarebill and topwater rod too.

Re: New Tatula Cranking rods
If you really want the rod I have no issue in working out a plan and going to BPS or a dealer locally that has it then buying it and shipping it to you.I will only charge you actual cost of rod as well as actual shipping but you pay insurance etc just to be safe. heck i will even throw in a brand ne...

Re: tatula 7'7" mrb
Just got a tatula 7'7"mrb rod for a t3 that I got at the TW sale. It is rated 1/4 to3/4 but I'm a little concerned about the r action rating. Since it seems that with all the ice around here I won't be able to fish with this for another month I was wondering if anyone has used this rod and what you...

Re: New Tatula Cranking rods
I shared emails with TackleDirect, as well as a store on Ebay. Both had this rod in stock, and both told me it was a split grip. So, either there are two models which is unlikely, or the full grip was just on the prototype. You are being told wrong. There is only one 701MLRB and it has a full grip....

Re: BB1 Pro VS Curado I VS Tatula
I finally had a chance to inspect the new Curado I today and Shimano deserves a lot of credit as its an excellent reel. I can see why it is already a favorite to some. One thing that stood out when comparing side by side with a Tatula is that the new Curado is noticeably wider. Was not expecting th...

Snidley wrote:I was told the Ti will no longer be built. Something to do with the agreement between 3M and Pure Fishing re the resin in the rod. It's a shame since they seem like nice rods to me.
Pure Fishing now owns all exclusive rights to the 3M resin. It affected more than one competing rod brand.

Re: Do you really need a Frog Rod for frogs?
Dean Rojas is a noted frog guru and his signature frog rod is a 7; MH rod. JFWIW - Dean rarely fishes thick slop with a frog. The hookup ratio is not good enough and you lose to many fish getting them back to the boat. He mainly uses his frog on docks and overhangs. This is per his own words in a v...

Re: Daiwa Marketing Tatula
I think it's really funny how they are saying randy Howell used the tatula during the classic. However the footing from him fishing he is clearly using steez reels. There is also a video on bass master with him showing the steez reels he used. How dumb do they think people are! Also here is the Cla...

Re: Daiwa Marketing Tatula
What bugs me is Daiwa's marketing tactics when it comes to the Tatula. Why did the Tatula come out being discounted right away? They priced them at $149.99 and $199.99 for the R but they are always discounted. I saw them at 20% off right away. Was this a marketing strategy by Daiwa to boost the sal...

Re: Do you really need a Frog Rod for frogs?
My question is although there are several nice frog rods on the market, Steez SVF-XBD, G. Loomis TWFR854C, MB Black Jungle Frog Game Special F6-70XBJ to name a few, do they really perform any better than a good all purpose stout rod? Technique specific rods are good ways to guide the novice into a ...

Re: i curado VS tatula
I will say this. I see a lot of Tatulas for sale on the forums. Most of them barely used. People are selling them for 1 of 2 reasons. They are ethier to big in hand, or people are selling them to acquire a new Curado. What specific forums? I like looking at stuff like that to see if there are any t...
