Light Power Casting Rod
I am looking for a light power casting rod. (Not light action, pet peeve of mine talking to Cabelas salesmen. Thats your JOB!!!) I have a Chronarch 50e with air bearings and a Avail Microcast spool. Looking for a rod to dedicate to finesse spinnerbaits and small tubes, along with a rod to casting in...

Re: UL Bassing
Just got back and had a blast! 1/32 oz crayfish colored jig= dozens of smallmouths. Largest was 17 in, smallest was 4 in. (hehe)
Going back out tomorrow afternoon. I will remember the camera this time. Which means I will not catch anything!

Re: UL Bassing
Spent the afternoon yesterday throwing 1/32 oz bunny strip jigs for crappies on my Majorcraft Zaltz. For every 3 crappies I caught I caught 1 bass. It was a blast! After wandering around the lake for a little while I saw all these guys throwing spinnerbaits on heavy gear. I kept thinking to myself, ...

Re: Favorite fly rod and why??
My favorite is my Sage VXP 9'6" 8 wt. I use this rod when the weeds get a little thick in the carp pond. Casts well in short for the sweet quick shots, and then can blast a 60 footer with just a few back casts. Then once you are hooked up she can handle large fish in the 20-35 pound range. Next is m...

Re: Fenwick HMX spinning
I bought a Light power 6'6" Silver Hawk at cabelas. Front yard casting tests are good. Can't say anything about how it is on the water, but overall a nice stick. I also had an Eagle GT in my had there the 5'3" Light power moderate action that would make a killer trout stick.

Re: Light weight pitching/jig rod.
Found the rod I think will fit the bill very nicely. TFO Gary Loomis Tactical Drop Shot 7'3" ml. Line weight 4-10. Lure weight 1/8 to 1/2

Re: Light weight pitching/jig rod.
As to the change up being a big change. I agree with that statement, but the accuracy is pretty bad. Even when feathering the spool with a finger casts are too long and too short. I am way more comfortable with casting tackle. If the casts are a little shorter that is alright, I fish these banks at ...

Light weight pitching/jig rod.
First I will explain the technique I need a rod for. I walk along a rip rap bank pitching jigs to rocks that cut the current. 1/8 or 1/4 oz jigs tipped with crayfish. I normally fish a 8' light action spinning rod but do not like the accuracy I have with that setup. I also will make fairly long cast...

Re: Carp Fly Rod
A 9wt i think would be to heavy, unless you are on Lake Michigan chasing giants. I have caught many 30 plus inch fish on my 6 wt, i just need to go a little heavier so that they can not run into the weeds on me.

Carp Fly Rod
I am looking into getting a slightly heavier carp rod. I am currently using a Ross Flystik 6 wt. I was thinking a 7 wt. Either a TFO BVK, St Croix Avid, Scott A4, or a G Loomis Shorestalker. But I am open to any other suggestions. Any Info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Isaiah
