Re: rod for stradic 1000 ci4+ and reel for USDM 7ft presso?
The River Runner would be a step down in power. The 6'9" light I have is lighter than one would expect. My fishing buddies have used it and been tricked into thinking they have a much bigger trout on than they actually do.

Re: Fenwick River Runner
I would mostly have agree about trout actions. That said the 7'6" L has a more powerful action.

Re: Phenix PHX-C682 = BFS rod
I have been thinking about buying a 682 for a Trout jerkabait rod in the driftless. I have a Daiwa SS Air that I would put 5lb Sunline Sniper on.

Re: Rod for 1/16 jigs and soft plastics.
I ended up with a Edge Rods First Strike 6101. The rod was half off. I have used it a little bit with my Daiwa SS Air and 4lb Flouro, casting a 1/16 jighead and a Strike King Bitsy Tube 2.75 at Smallmouths. The fish were on the smaller side in the 14-16 inch range. Rod handled well, it is light and ...

Sunline Troutist Darkness
Just poking around on some websites and noticed that Sunline Troutist Darkness is listed on the American Sunline website. Is anyone fishing this line? If so would it be good for Bait Finesse?

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!
Is anyone using a DIY BFS spool to cast down to a 1/16 for trout? Or am I better off going Scorpion BFS? Mepps Aglia Spinner 00 has 1,5g and is castable. Lightest for me is the europe cream jig but that is really the limit for me. The reason I ask is I am putting together a Trout casting rod. I hav...

Re: Any Carp guys here?
I am a carp guy. Carp on the fly that is. I can not bring myself to throwing a line and waiting like I did when I was younger. On the fly though they can be downright hard to catch. I like the challenge of getting them to eat, and then landing then on my 6wt.

Re: North Fork Composites BFS rod
How do you think the 661 would fair with the jerkbaits? 1/4 oz for Husky jerks. Or should I maybe go up a rod to the 662?

North Fork Composites BFS rod
Called NFC/Edge Rods to ask about a couple Rods in the line up for a BFS rod. After talking to the rep he said they could build me a one off custom on any blank I wanted. Strolling through the catalog I'm kind of at a loss on what to go with. I will be using the rod for 1/16 oz jigs with 3inch minno...

After contacting NFC/Edge Rods they are willing to build a one off custom for me. Anyone have a blank from their catalog they think would get the job done?

What do you guys know about Edge Rods? Maybe the First Strike 6100 Finesse or Inshore 662.

Re: Rod for 1/16 jigs and soft plastics.
I could put my SS Air on the rod instead of the Chronarch/Yumeya Spool.poisonokie wrote:I'd consider ditching the leader before the micro guides for BFS.

Re: Rod for 1/16 jigs and soft plastics.
As I do more and more research, I keep coming back to the simple fact that I don't want micro guides. Braid to leader knots don't pass through well enough. I am thinking Recon is the way to go. Unless something's there is something in the G Loomis line that would better suit my pursuit.
