Re: Shimano Exsence DC spool/cast control bearings
I don't have the answer to your size question but since I received my Exsence yesterday and had a chance to play with the freespool, I have to say that I don't think I'll be upgrading my bearings anytime soon as my reel freespools forever. I have upgraded to Boca ABEC 7 orange seals in my Core's and...

Re: Exsence DC Its here :)
My Exsence was just delivered to my office, was wondering if any of you that have one had a cover provided for it in the box? I would think as a DC, it would come with a cover. :?: Just ordered the rod for it today so I won't have any feedback until later this month. Feels pretty nice in hand though...

Re: shimano scorpion xt
I just spooled my Scorpion XT the other night in prep for fishing DVL tomorrow, not that I've been able to fish it yet but compared to my Core 50MG7 and my Curado 50E, I'd say its right in between the 2. Again, this based solely on aesthetics and freespooling before I spooled it the other night. Is ...

Re: Searching For Another Loomis
I'll second the IMX MBR844C, it's a hair softer than the GLX making it better for buzzbaits and chatterbaits, best of all is its more affordable than the GLX.

Nice, I have one on the way to San Diego too! Will you be opening it up for degreasing and lube?

Re: GLoomis CBR845 vs GLX MBR842
The MBR842C is one of my favorite rods. Super light and sensitive, I use it from throwing weightless Senkos to throwing Sammy's with it. It's old school but still has a place in my boat and always will.

Re: Crankbait Rod For Drop Shot Use?
One of the first casting rods I used for dropshotting was a Loomis CBR781, perfect in my opinion.

Have had several transactions with Van and nothing but positive results, not only does he provide valued feedback to the site he's also a trustworthy buyer. No hesitation dealing with Van.
Thanks Bud!

Re: Shimano Exsence DC?
I'm generally a finesse guy when it comes to LMB here in SoCal, and as you referenced, a Core 50 Mg7 is my current reel of choice, but if the Exsence throws a little heavier and holds more line, all the better as I plan on using it in SW for some Spotties, Sandies and Calicos locally. Looking forwar...

Re: Shimano Exsence DC?
I've been entertaining thoughts of picking one up too. How does it throw lighter (3/16 oz) baits?

Re: Calcutta D, USDM & JDM gearing
I just bought and received a new 100D about a week ago. I haven't considered switching the handle out to a carbon one or any other type for that matter but I can try and switch it with the handle from my 200TE, if that one fits, all the standard aftermarket versions should fit too. I will tell you t...

Re: Thank you TackleTour
Van, Most of the Spotties are a pound or less but the occasional 2 or 3lb Sandie may decide to play. Then again, it is the bay so you never know, I've actually hooked a guesstimated 60lb batray on FW bass gear years ago. For the most part though, I've always used my LMB gear without issue, only Calc...

Re: Thank you TackleTour
I have Extremes 702c and 703c scheduled for delivery early next week. This was a total impulse purchase as I've never even seen nor held one in person, I just got a couple new reels and was trying to figure out what rods to put them on. Didn't need anything too stout and wanted a little wow factor w...
