Is the knob seated fully? If it is not, you will get the screw to turn without making contact with the threads.

Just to be clear it will not prevent all backlashes, it will just make the reel a lot more forgiving!

Studio Composite makes swept handles that do not require swept knobs. They are a bit pricy though.

The DC system does not really let you cast any farther, what it does is make the cast much more controlled.

There are a couple guys close, but to say I trust them enough with my Brigandage would be a stretch. Yeah I know shipping will be a bear, but for this rod I am okay with that. Matt pm'd me and I have sent some pics to him.
