Re: Sunline Super Natural

Thanks , Todd. I picked up some 20 lb clear , it's the same diameter as 15 lb big game. Gonna try it on my worm/senko rod.

Re: Braid that holds it's color

Spiderwire invisibraid , it's white , never changes color. It's my fav for spinning reels , I use it with about 2' or 3' of leader. I tried a white braid a few years ago And some of the tannic ponds that I fish turned it brown almost instantly. I think I used one of the Suffix lines. Do you have an...

Re: Braid that holds it's color

Are there any high viz. braids that are particularly long lasting? I only grudgingly use braid on my spinning reels and without the ability to easily line watch I can’t stand the stuff. Spiderwire invisibraid , it's white , never changes color. It's my fav for spinning reels , I use it with about 2...

Re: Braid that holds it's color

The only one that I have used that actually keeps its color "and I have use a lot of braids" is vicious no-fade braid. You cannot have used the Black Velvet then... I have three different diameters and all are pitch black as on the day of purchase. Slightly thick and and a little ropey though... I ...

Re: Braid that holds it's color

Picked up some FX2 60# in dark green today. Gonna string up my flipping stick. I love the j-braid x4 although it fades pretty quick. But , I noticed this afternoon when it gets wet , it kinda gets dark again. Probably doesn't make a slight bit of difference, it's a reaction bite. Just worrying about...

Re: Bone Stock Reels

When y'all get a brand new reel , do you open them up right away and give them a proper lube ? Or do you run them the way they come first ? I've always lubed them up right out of the box but , wondering what others do ?

Re: Bearings?????

You can buy the same bearings he sells off aliexpress for pennies on the dollar. Personally I would not run them in my reels. There are much better bearings out there with much tighter tolerances.

Re: Scorpion MGL

I guess I should add that many of the other reels I have owned are of the Scorpion quality ie plastic side plates such as the Tatula ct and many of the older Curados. It’s not my first rodeo so pump and wind and judicious thumb pressure are all part of my repertoire, as with all Barra fishermen low...

Tzlure.com mentions the 2020 Metanium. They misspelled Shimano
Awesome find! Now we need a translator \:D/
It didn't translate into much other than it will be updated for 2020.

The only thing I wanna know is brass or aluminum gears.

I use an ultrasonic cleaner with a degreaser like Simple Green, then I rinse with hot water and last step is the final degrease in a jar with acetone.
Acetone is cheap and super effective on bearings too.
Thanks MisterQ. I have all of those items. :)

Degreaser for gear set

What's the best cleaner that won't leave a residue on a gear set , it seems some degreasers leave a residue that the new grease doesn't want to stick too. I've heard crc electronic cleaner , but that can get expensive.
Thoughts ? Thanks in advanced.

Re: —Daiwa Catalina TW 4.9:1–

After my test and wanting a bit more control, I looked at the inductor spring and it was a beast. I swapped it with a TDZ spring from TTT and it is much more controlled. The stock spring is the heaviest I've seen in a Daiwa reel. Also opened up the 4.9 just to see the gears. Teeth are still fairly ...
