Re: Did some indutor swapping, not sure I improved anything.
So I can assume that a 100 inductor on a103 spool will cast like a 100 spool, just with less line capacity...?

Re: Did some indutor swapping, not sure I improved anything.
I don't have the Type-R inductor on either of the 103 spools at the moment, they both have gold TD-Z inductors. Are the magnets in the 100 and 103 Steez the same...?

Re: Did some indutor swapping, not sure I improved anything.
Ha! I have a 1016 already, I'm just trying to make do and tinker around with them, that's a big part of the fun for me. I'll be trying it out soon though. I already traded one of the Type-R inductor and I have the other one in a flipping switch 105HL. I did just pick up a 100SHL spool though so I ma...

Re: Nice leader knot
i tried this knot it is nice and small and it held up with zero issues but i still prefer an alberto, maybe it;s just because i have used it so many times and can tie them very tidy in a quick about of time. I'm in the same boat, probably because I had one helluva of a time tying the FG properly wi...

Re: Did some indutor swapping, not sure I improved anything.
The only inductor swap i approve is a Type-R into a TD-Z 105 spool. Funny you mention that, I made that exact swap in the hopes that the Type-R inductor would be more beneficial in that reel. I'm glad you approve of at least that much... 8-) Something I just realized about the 103ML is that it came...

Re: Did some indutor swapping, not sure I improved anything.
Are you actually fishing, or just playing with your reels? Personally, I like to catch fish! Bass season doesn't open until late June and considering my lack of proficiency with baitcasters, I thought it better to practice until I could without making a fool of myself :P Practice now, find fi...

Re: Did some indutor swapping, not sure I improved anything.
Lol! That was really helpful ;-) there's no way in hell that I can cast a 103 spool yet. Besides, I had some down time and wanted to tinker around with a few reels. It's a good learning process, ha! Lol. Stick with the 103 and fix the inductor and try. I hadn't thought about that, I'll have to give...

Did some inductor swapping, not sure I improved anything...
I swapped the wild redheaded inductor out of my 2 Steez 103's for the gold TD-Z inductor recently. I went out on Thursday to try them out and was left underwhelmed from the casting of both reels. Not only that but they seems very hit or miss when it came to if they were going to backlash on me or fl...

Re: Auction site gems
So did the theft happened at UPS? Was it a worker? It sure seems that way. It sat in Mesquite for 6 days, then I received that email. I'm assuming that it went missing either on it's way there our once it got there. It was insured enough to cover the cost of the reel so that should be pretty cut an...

Re: baitcast bfs line for trout
From 10# - 20#. If I were to go back and purchase my line again though, I'd probably buy Sufix 832 or some other braid. I found the Super 8 Slick to fray a lot at the leader knot, whereas my wife's line was fine the entire time. I had to retie several times over the course of 3 hours. I realize this...

Re: baitcast bfs line for trout
I would go with braid and an FC leader. I fished a couple of stocked trout ponds yesterday and had no trouble hooking into a bunch of nice rainbow trout with braid and a leader using a reliable Panther Martin inline spinner. I was using Super8Slick and 8# P-Line FC/10# Seaguar Red Label/10# Seaguar ...

Where can I find Daiwa inductors?
I want to mess around with different inductors on a few of my reels just for something fun to do. Specifically, I picked up a second Steez 103 and want to swap the inductor out for something more controllable. I have the inductor out of a TD-Z 105HL (flipping switch model) on my other 103 spool but ...
