Re: Suggestion for my TDX
I would have no problem with the TDX. It's a great workhorse reel and would be fine for spinnerbaits and chatterbaits. If anything, put a 4 bearing handle on it, upgrade to Carbontex drag washers, and your good to go. I may have to try this then. The 8.1 just doesn't offer the torque I want for the...

Suggestion for my TDX
I'm looking for a spinnerbait/chatterbait reel right now and was curious if my OG TDX would likely work for what I'm needing as I haven't been able to secure a trade for a newer Daiwa 6.3 yet. It's well worn on the edges, but works flawlessly. I would spool some 15# copoly on it and drop it on my Da...

Re: Issues with Tackle Warehouse
In my opinion, their business model kind of sucks. If you can't ship backorders FIRST when items arrive, quit taking backorders. I would not stand for a 6 month delay. There is no excuse. When you have placed the backorder, you go to the top of the list, before listing items for sale on the site. In...

Re: MB Dark Sleeper
I have quite a few. One 3/8oz, four or five 1/2oz and a pair of 3/4oz. I am going to take them out this week or next and see about some bites. I figure my MH Dark Angel with 15lb copolymer should suffice. They should slay in rivers for smallies too.

Re: Newer Reels
Honestly, until I started grabbing Fuegos, I hated the physical dimensions of Daiwa and hated Magforce. I am sold on these Fuegos and aim to try a Tat CT or even go higher in the food chain. Now, when I hold a Curado, up to an including the I models, they're uncomfortable. I've had 70s, 100s and 20...

Re: Who is the MOST over rated ?
I have to wonder if Falcon made this move ahead of a sellout? What move? Have you looked at Falcon? They have their cheap, sub-$100 rods made overseas, like everyone else. Their Jason Christie, Bucoo SR and above are made in the USA. They had to have an entry level line that was cheaper than $100 t...

Re: Reels Over Rated Or Under Rated
To me, Shimano DC reels are over rated. The $100 reels that have been flooding the market are under rated. Some of them things can really be transformed if you know what you are doing. (Fuego, SLX, Speed Spool.) While I'm not sold on my LFS, I absolutely love my 3 Fuego CT; so much so that I am loo...

Re: Just got a Tarpon 100!!
I know it's an old topic, but I just got my 2017 T100. It is perfect for small waters, ponds, small lakes, coves, creeks, rivers. It's my favorite piece of new tackle.

I've never done business on aliexpress. Maybe I need to check it out. Daiwas are 8x5, right?hoohoorjoo wrote:Aliexpress has good replacement handles on the cheap.

Daiwa TD-S/X info
Hey, I have two TD-X and one TD-S. The X models have the typical rash on the finish and the S is near mint condition. I had never tried these until last week and, man, I am sold. Casting is effortless and they reel perfectly. I have two gripes I need to get addressed though. First, the handles are s...

Re: Is there a better deep jerkbait than the staysee 90
I've never had much luck with any jerkbaits. I throw Pointer 78s mostly and have yet to stick one. I have stuck several on TD-80s though. Deep jerkbaits seem like something I wouldn't have much use for even though I love how they look.

Re: Wart style baits
I have both the 6th sense Curve 55 and the Rock Crawler from spro. My opinion is the spro is far superior to the Curve due to the weight transfer in the spro cranks. I get much better distance with similar effort. Both are great, but the castability puts one as a favorite for me. This is encouragin...

Anyone tried it yet? I'm very interested for the price. My local Academy has it for 9.99 a spool.
