Re: Daiwa J Braid x8 Grand
The new 13-strand Sufix 131 is a very nice braid, but expensive. The 16-strand Gosen braid is also outstanding. I haven't seen either in the U.S. Strange these braids are not available in the US. Easy to source in Oz: https://www.tacklewarehouse.com.au/line/braid/gosen.html#q=&idx=live_default_prod...

Re: ZPI M or 1012 g1
The primary reel I would use this spool in is a Steez A, although I might switch into my IS's or Steez LTD if the A's braking can't be compensated. Looks as though both of these spools are about the same weight and hold about the same capacity of line. Primary lure range would be 5-10 grams. X-80 j...

Re: 2019 Daiwa Morethan PE 1000 TW
What's the difference of this reel against the Steez A? What justifies the additional 100 USD in price? Thanks for the info. Brass gears. Black paint with gold accents. Some mill work on the frame and carbon fiber inlays. Steez A is kinda boring looking IMO and I have never been a fan of aluminum g...

Re: Do I need a BFS reel?
Another really solid option would be the Steez SV TW or Zillion SV TW with a Zpi Nrc001-m spool. Can accommodate and excel with 1/8 oz, but provides you with plenty of line for most situations. This. I also use my Steez A's with the 1012SV G1 and Megabass IS Finesse spools to throw ultralight jigs ...

Re: 2019 Daiwa Morethan PE 1000 TW
The alloy gears in the Steez A are tough and super smooth, even after many big fish, and I'm a fan of brass gears.

Re: Gear replacements
replaced two gear sets on the Met2013. Those thin and ultra light alumium gears shimano uses in many reels are garbage in my opinion. This raspy noise and feel is so annoying when you're retrieving a decent resistance bait such as a spinnerbait The Met 2013 stock gears are notoriously bad for produ...

Re: Steez A spool options?
The gears in the Steez A are very durable. I have three, two 6 and an 8, which have copped a flogging on large barramundi, queenfish, mangrove jack, and thread fin salmon. Still as smooth as new and definitely the smoothest reels I have ever cranked. As pointed out above, the 1012SV G1 is a great sp...

Re: Upgrading bearing on slp and rcs alphas and steez sv spools
Has anyone tried doing this? If so, what bearing did you use in the upgrade on the spool shaft? Is it an improvement over the stock bearing that the slp and rcs spools originally have installed on them? :-k I am going to try HH BFS AIR 1030 bearing on some spool shafts. Are talking about the 1012/1...

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!
It is not so much the quality of the bearing but more because the bearing is loose on the shaft and slides from side to side. I am not sure that is the reason though. Still, perfectly useable spool! Should be very good for grayling and perch fishing, which I hear is great in Finland (?) as is the n...

Re: Zpi nrc001 m and pg with braid?
Yes the "M" goes very well in the Steez A, especially for lighter lures. The magnets in the Steez A perform great for a wide range of spools, including the TDZ Type R+ and Megabass Finesse. Nothing wrong with the stock spool, but it performs best for 1/2 oz and up.

Super efficient shipping with EMS. By the far the best I have ever used and the tracking is usually up to date (provided you use the destination country's tracking system once it gets to its shores).

Re: Zpi nrc001 m and pg with braid?
I run the 1012SV G1 spools in my As and they are great. I guess the improvement would be small if any, but it’s always interesting to try another option....
