Re: Sv spool for steez A
The TDZ TYPE R+ spools also cast very well, though they are a bit faster than the 1012/1016SV G1 spools.

Re: Reviews out on new 2018 Ryoga?
Nice detective work there. Unusual fault for any reel, let alone a new one. Love the clean stealth look of this model....

The 1012 and 1016SV G1 spools work a treat.

Re: Tsurinoya Rods and Reels
I have the pro flex II, and it is pretty awesome. Have caught trout up to 8 lbs and it handled it fine. It’s a solid tip rod with a ultra fine tip and a good amount of back bone. All the components are nice not sure they are genuine Fuji as advertised but for a bfs rod that’s under 100 it is great....

Re: Favourite Nanofil leader knot
FG knots work by digging into the fluoro/mono....with 6 lb nanofil or 4/6 lb leader there's not alot of material to work with....try it & see. the stripers guys are using much heavier gear. i've used nanofil since it came out for trout + panfish....i love it but it has limitations. people either se...

Re: Favourite Nanofil leader knot
The PR and FG knots are the strongest in that order. Read Aquaholik’s thread on stripersonline, where dozens of lines and knots are tested. The FG is a snack to tie with the Daiichi Knot Asist Tool. 2 mins for any braid/leader combo and is the thinnest knot going.Typically 75-85% strength, based on ...

Re: Bantam MGL Who has their hands on one?
Great to see an all-metal body and brass gears (the sooner alloy gears disappear the better!). Only disappointment is the spool porting on the sides, which is a direct avenue for water to get into the reel. This could be a serious issue with braid in saltwater.

Re: spool bearing pin removal tool
I’ve used the Reel Speed spool pin pliers for many years with great success. Much faster than tools that require a handle screw. Dawn at Smoothdrag had some for sale, but they can be hard to find

Re: Steez A TWS
The 1012SV G1 spool is brilliant in my Steez A for 1/8 to 1/2 oz. Good distance and control. Stock spool is fine for 1/2 oz and up, but you should flush the spool bearings and relube with low viscosity oil or TSI 321.jwfflipper14 wrote:how would the reel perform if I put a SV spool in it?

Great spool. I have one in a 6.3 Steez A and it transformed the reel for light lures up to 1/2 oz.

Re: Steez A Spools
Tried the 1012SV G1 and the Gigas TDZ Type R+. Both are great, with the former shading the latter for lures < 1/4 oz. The stock spool is no slouch for lures > 1/2 oz.

Re: Steez A SV?
My Steez SV TW came /w a Steez reel cover and at least 2bb in the handle. Can't remember..swapped it for a Zillion Type R CF handle right away...My Steez A SV did not come /w a reel cover and it also came with 4 bushings in the handle. Anybody else notice this? I want my Steez reel cover :crying: L...

The above describes it. And greasing the gears only fixes the problem temporarily, the vibration always comes back. Problem disappears with the K brass drive gear and so far has not returned. Mine is a 6.2 reel.

Re: New 2018 Stella FJ and Bantam MGL
There are more reels coming later this year. These happen to be part of the global launch that took place today. Due to production schedules some products will come here later than other markets. Bantam to me is essentially a Conquest, but in a low profile body. It's built like a tank but just insa...
