Re: Concept C worth the $?
Worth the money is up to you ultimatly. Is it a big jump from say the A? sure. I still use my C right next to my zillions, z2020, ryoga, and steez a. Is it as refined as the Steez etc no, but the price isnt as high either. It was a much easier to cast reel than my old lews team lites that I moved aw...

Re: How fast is too fast?
I was using my zillion sv tws 9.1 last week to flip jigs for largemouths on leech lake. I ended up hooking several eater pike in the 26-30 inch class daily and never felt like i was having a torque issue, this was also fighting the fish in reeds and millfoil. You're a better man than I, Charlie Bro...

Re: Megabass F8-79XX Flipping
I have had mine for a few seasons. I believe it is the same rod as the perfect pitch just longer. I use mine for punching jigs and for larger pike lures in the 1-2 oz size. I also use it for a frog rod depending whas in the boat etc. I have mine rigged up with a z2020 with 50lb braid and really enjo...

Re: Ryoga 5.4:1 for crankbait rod...
I have had mine for awhile now but only on the water using it for maybe 3 trips. I have it mounted on a megabass launcher. It does throw the lighter end of the spectrum of cranks decently (wiggle warts etc), but last trip I put a 6xd on it and it really ripped. I didnt notice any difference in power...

Re: Crankbait question
I crank more than I probably should lol. But when I target structure I like to treat it like a laydown with a jig. I dont fire right into the meat of the laydown and scare everything off pulling one fish out, I work the edges first. So say I am working some deep rocks or timber. I will throw a hardb...

Re: Braid vs Fluorocarbon as main line
Marduk for the fishing you do I would stick to braid. For the sea trout if they are sensitive bite then I would try flouro at least once, you will probably get more sensitivity. if you are fishing rocks then definetly try flouro over mono for abrasion resistance. Now if your sea trout are like the s...

Re: Braid vs Fluorocarbon as main line
For fish like Zander/walleye, perch and pike I see no reason to not use just braid. There arent any slack line fishing techniques for those fish really, maybe light weight jigging but then you would want to see the line anyway. The only time I see it being a negative is maybe trolling for zander? It...

Re: Reviews out on new 2018 Ryoga?
Good to know that it may break in a bit. I wasn't blown away with the "freewheel" either BUT it casts like a dream so I dont really care when it doesnt perform something its not made to do. Hopefully the ticking you are experiencing is a simple fix, I have nothing like that with mine.

Re: Reviews out on new 2018 Ryoga?
I fished my 1016 for the first time yesterday. No fish to report but I got maybe 30 mins of casting in. I was using a megabass launcher with defier 13 lb line and a wiggle wart tied on. The wiggle wart is the very bottom of what this rod is rated for so I figured it would be a good test. I was able ...

Re: Conquest vs Ryoga
I have the 5 speed 1016 reel. I plan on using it on a megabass launcher for xd6 and dd22 type lures. Hopefully I will have it out sunday on the water but not sure there will be a mid to deep crank bite in my area. I spooled it with 13lb defier last night as i think we will still have some cold days ...

Re: Conquest vs Ryoga
The reel came with what appears to be a protector for the foot of the reel made out of rubber. Do you think this is for the reel when you attach it to the rod? It seems like that may make it less secure but I haven't tried it yet.

Re: Conquest vs Ryoga
100m .33mm line. I think the differences you are seeing is the Japanese vs us line breaking sizes. They all say .33 line just some say 12lb and others say that's 16lb
