Re: Long casting JDM swimbait rod up to 3 oz

The Megabass Evoluzion White Python is another good option. The anniversary ones are for sale all over the place right now. It's only 7'6 but casts really well due to the taper and has the sensitivity part down. I use mine for 1 - 3 oz hard and soft swimbaits and think it's just right. No experienc...

Re: Trout baits?

I've caught my better sized browns on Vision OneTens (Yes, the full sized version). In muddy water I use the brighter, reaction colors, and in the clear water I use the more natural colors. Not many bites, but they're good ones! I guess their carnivorous nature takes 'em over.

Re: Braid/Fluro Leader Question

I use straight fluoro on my fb jigs. Usually, I'll run 17lb AbrazX straight, but 15 or 20 will work too, depending on how well they're eating it. This is for jigs up to 1oz. Personally, I'm not a fan of braid to fluoro on baitcasters, since I've had bad experiences breaking knots (Partly user error...

X2 on the OneTen. Pro Blue when it's clear and sunny, Elegy Bone when it's stained, and Kohoku Reaction when it's cloudy.

Re: longest running hardest working reel

My Curado 200DHSV. My dad gave it to me on a Loomis GL3 when we won our first tournament together over 10 years ago, and it still feels as smooth as when he got it, despite all those years of use.

Re: Is anyone else dissapointed in Icast '17?

I agree to an extent, there seemed to be a lot of "revamps" or variations of existing products, especially in the rod and reel department. The new Curado looks to be very good, but new items like the Conquest and the Sustain seem to be only slight improvements on existing design. That being said, I ...

Re: Shimano Calcutta Conquest 200

I have mine with an Avail deep spool, and I can comfortably launch Megabass I-Slide 185s. It feels a bit taxed casting around that 3.25oz mark (only accuracy wise) but below that it feels great. Currently spooled with 20lb InvizX.

Re: Texas rigging paddle tail swimbaits

I don't usually T-Rig 'cause they twist up the line without a keel weight, but I found that the Gamakatsu G-Lock hooks hold the Keitechs better than an EWG.
