You're being sarcastic, right?!!jeb wrote: If Loomis thought the recoil's had some issues or that they were less premium, I doubt they'd have put them on their highest end rods. Many/most of the NRX's use some recoil guides.

Re: Daiwa Zillion TDZ Mag-Z Whirring noise end of cast
Try inspecting the felt washer and shim under the bearing of the sideplate, it could be fouled. another thing to look at is the pinion shaft and the bearing under it. it might be deformed causing the spool to wobble.

Re: Megabass Evoluzion NIGHTMARE...the CONTINUATION!!!
USA-RET, I've had people mail items and wanted insurance for 10 times the value. People need to understand that the actual value of the item is how much will be paid on a claim. So, if Jay paid $350 for a $600 rod and it was insured for $600, he would only be reimbursed the $350 plus the postage th...

Re: making Daiwa 103ml gear faster??
103HL? (Steez or do you mean TD-Ito) Either way, I'm guessing mine was a rare case as most people say on here the steez gears drop right in. what i've found on mine tho is that my 103ml main shaft was uniform round and used pins and holes on the main gear to drive the smaller gear B. while on my ste...

Re: making Daiwa 103ml gear faster??
Nitro, You might want to check the 103ml main shaft if it matches the Steez's before you get the gears. for some odd reason, my 103ml had a different configuration main shaft and the Steez gears didnt work, unless I switch the main shafts too.

Re: Revo MGX wins ICAST 2011 "Best Freshwater Reel" award!
Now I'm no rocket scientist, so someone correct me if im wrong here.. smaller gears at a faster gear ratio = same IPT of the bigger gear of slower ratio (7.1) - seems the only real world difference here is that you'll need more force to turn that gear to achieve the same speed, especially under load...

LOL, Man i feel like i'm back in 1989.. when Jethro Tull beat out Metallica in the Grammys for best hard rock / Metal performance. I hope Abu makes good use of this award for their marketing, they'll need it..
