Steez - TDZ gear swap
Hi guys, ran into a slight problem swapping the gears between a TDZ103ml and a Steez 103hla, you might have some ideas. I remember reading on the old boards that the gears on these are interchangeable yet when i tried them, I ran into this problem. the smaller drive gear on the steez is turned by a ...

Re: I'm pretty sure Fluorocarbon is BS...
I have never been a believer that FC is "invisible". now, having said that, here in Castaic Lake, CA. try using a shad net made with FC, and one made with Nylon Mono. the difference is astounding! perhaps the bass see differently than shad, perhaps not.

Re: So how does everyone feel now?
Honestly, do you feel that fluoro is worth the cost now that we know its pros and cons? Honestly. I know alot of guys that swear by it but not one of them has just been dominating tournaments around here. As a matter of fact, most of the guys around here that consistently win bass tournaments local...

Re: Anyone else making the shift to longer rods?
I've actually gone the opposite way, shifting to shorter rods. Before, the arsenal comprised mostly of 7 footers and up, and i mainly fished from the shore so the extra distance in casting was nice. but since then, I've moved to slightly shorter rods. 6'6"-7'. I still have a few rods that are over 7...

Re: The search for low stretch Fluorocarbon line
Keep in mind that fluoro stretches just as much or more than mono/copoly. It just doesn't snap back like a rubber band. It is more like the old Stretch Armstrong I had as a kid. It stretches then slowly recovers. This makes it seem like it has less stretch but it really doesn't. I found this out by...

Re: Premium Fluorocarbon Discussion
Cal, how would you compare Sunline Shooter, Toray Super hard upgrade and the Darm, in terms of stretch? I have only tried the shooter so lets put that as our baseline. thanks..

Re: Interested in a TD type R
Unless someone knows of a way to upgrade the Steez Drag System to match that of the Type-R perhaps I will change my mind. With the Steez at 5lbs max drag stopping power + carbontex drag upgrade and you are looking at perhaps 6lbs - 8lbs max. Just my opinion. You might want to have that Steez checke...

Re: Daiwa Zillion Coastal / Type R Upgrades?
I've placed an order today for the corrosion resistant worm shaft bearing, (Key #42,part # G46-6201) from the 50th Zillion for my Coastal. I have also ordered the drive gear (Key #52, Part #: G95-7601) and pinion gear (Key #38, Part #: H20-8201) from the 4.9 PA Zillion to slow the retrieve and incr...

Re: Spool modification - anyone know this one?
I don't get your post ???? U are getting 20-30 ft more on a cast the reel don't backlash, he sent the spools back on time, now U are trying to steal his modification and throw him under the bus on a open forum. WOW 10YDS more on a cast, U don't see that kind of increase in casting with Ceramic bear...

Re: Oh you Senko/stickbait users.. LOL
Oh c'mon guys, perhaps its you/us thats gotta open our minds.. not everyone out on the water fishes for the same reason.. thats why you have the 99% of the time dropshot and senko fishermen, and those that fish with nightcrawlers or live bait.. I personally try and stay away from the dropshot and se...

Re: Daiwa Zillion Coastal / Type R Upgrades?
One area you may want to look at is the worm shaft. Regular Zillions, and I believer the Coastal also, do not have a worm shaft bearing. I have a Zillion 50th, and it has a worm shaft bearing. You could get the bearing for it, no need to get a Worm Shaft Holder because there is already one. All you...

The search for low stretch Fluorocarbon line
Hi guys, as the title suggest, i'm looking for the lowest stretch possible fluorocarbon out there? I've been using Sunline Shooter for the past few years now since i found it to have very minimal stretch (while all other things considered). the TT fluorocarbon shootout corroborated my findings. Now ...

Re: Issues With New Machinegun Cast
I dont know if they changed anything on the machinegun cast, but ive had the same experience with the new packaging FC sniper a couple years back.. since then, the only Sunline i would buy are the ones with the old packaging. and its getting harder and harder to source.
