vArm,

casting Performance wise, replacing the spool bearings should do it. On the 100D the bearings are located in the sideplate dial (?) and under the cast control knob.

I definitely recommend bearing upgrade for the 100D. i use the TG rocket bearings and it's amazing how far I can cast. I believe the the bearing size is 3x10x4mm.

It looks like you can buy directly from Owner

Re: New Pixy and rod

Can I get one with a cast aluminum reel seat and Lexan trigger and lock to match the Alphas-Ito I just got from Len? :D Gadget BTW: Raul - Where did you search and find these rods? I google'd "Abu Fantasia"... and I am embarrassed to tell you what I came up with! I'll just say it had NOTHING...

Re: Core testing survey

Count me in on the spinning reel test. Especially the 1000 size. I have 6 UL rods I can test on, including head to head tests with symetre ULs.

Re: Sensitive Mono Suggestions...

Braid is only more sensitive when it is taut. It has a tendency to float, which only exacerbates the problem . I agree with Thor on this one...At least that's what i found. Some Sensitive monos / Co-polymers that I like: You zuri Hybrid. However, step down at least one line size. P-Line Cxx. P-Line...

Re: Summer weather lures?

just downsize everything and slow down your presentation. :D Agree. we're in a semi drought and the water is low and clear. It's been tough bite for a while until this last weekend. 4 in and smaller natural colored soft plastics with small weights (1/32-1/16) worked for me. I didn't catch anything ...

Hopefully, Cal will chime in. He does a lot of testing on the CA delta and should have a lot of insight into this topic.

Chris,

Check out Reeds Sports. It looks like all Daiwa reels are discounted 10%. And many of them have free shipping.

I'm not affiliated with them, they just have good prices and great service.

Re: My first (but not last) Otterrod

that's how it all started with me....a custom otterod spinning rod. Now 6 years later, I have 6. Matt does great work. From the sensitivity to the way the line shoots through the guides they are my highest performing rods.

Re: Weeds, I catch them and I hate them

The eye of the hook is buried in the senko. However when the senko pulls itself through the weedbed. It will catch right at the end of the senko where the eye of the hook is buried. This rips the senko out of the hook also, damaging it. Try this. rig the hook through the pointed, tail end of the se...
