Re: Best rod tubes for travel
I've never flown with my rods, so i can't speak to the abuse that an airline company would put on a travel tube. That said, I use a 4" schedule 40 PVC cut to 7'6" for my rods and feel extremely confident that my rods would survive a flight. I use unthreaded caps that slip onto the pipe and marked on...

Re: New Levante vs
Rod balancing kits do exist, so i could make the butt of the rod just a little bit fatter in exchange for better balance.

Re: New Levante vs
Based on my super scientific balancing system of a chair crossbeam, the SA733 balances about 3.5" closer to the reel seat than the Braillist. The SA733's balance point with a MetMGL is almost immediately in front of the end of the reel (about 0.5") whereas the balance point for the Braillist is abou...

Re: New Levante vs
I have the Braillist coming in tomorrow so I'll be able to compare it to a Dobyns Sierra 733. Does anyone have a list of how much rods in the new Levante series weigh?

Re: Issues with Tackle Warehouse
Has anyone else has issues with TWH taking much longer than usual to ship out orders? It used to be next day at the latest and now it’s just taking forever

Re: New reel dilemma
Just noticed another thread today, about a Chronarch MGL's gears clicking. I stepped mine up to a 7'6"MH rod not long ago and have still had no issues. I assume the Bantam can only be more tough??? The line guide shortness cannot be too much of an issue though, only ever seen minor complaints about...

Re: Are we destroying our Gear Sets by pulling out snag?
I think aluminum gears is a big part of it. I've had big catfish and carp make a baitcaster's aluminum gears feel rough after a long fight, where I had to really winch on them to get them to the boat. I switched 8 of my Smoke Burners to brass main gears, and no more worries. Aluminum is soft... lik...

Re: Chronarch MGL clicking sound
I did not take the worm shaft apart. It was a simple clean and grease job for the gears. You're right that it isn't the x-ship bearing. I swapped the handle sideplate of the other chronarch i own onto the problem reel and the clicking persisted. I then proceeded to try to swap out the pinion gear, ...

Re: Chronarch MGL clicking sound
I did not flush my bearings, but i got home and played around with another chronarch i own and swapped the sideplates, yokes, springs, and pinion gears around and i think it’s the pinion gear. Replacing a gearset is easy enough. Of course, now the other chronarch also has a similar, but much less no...

Chronarch MGL clicking sound
Hey guys, I just went to relube one of my ChMGLs and was less than satisfied with my job, so i went back in to redo it. After that, my reel started clicking multiple times with every handle turn and I cannot figure out for the life of me what it is. I’ve isolated it down to likely being the X-Ship b...

Re: New knob styles
I'm a big fan of the knobs on the Chronarch and Metanium and have ordered a few sets to replace the knobs on my Core and Curados. They're the perfect size to me and I've never found my grip slipping under wet conditions.

Re: Spinnerbait Trailer Hook
Honestly I've had great success with Eagle Claw's 1/0 O'Shaughnessy hooks fitted with a small piece of aquarium tubing on the eye. Total of $5 and some change gets me something like 25 trailer hooks. I know TT's all about high-end gear but if it works, it works
