Re: Musky guys I need your help

I used the heavy action Hyuga for years. Casting exactly your lure range. Just grab yourself a Topraider in 8" and you're set. I have one in bullfrog. I never could get them go after it. I'll have to throw it on the Hyuga. If they're spawning, topwater might not be the best. Some large spinnerbait ...

Re: Steez TW ticking sound/vibration

Good news everyone. Called Tackle Trap and got to talk with Bryan for a second. My reel has been gone for a while, but they are waiting on parts, wanted to clear that up first. They were fast and he broke it down to diagnose very quickly. I just had not called to check in a while with the baby due ...

Re: Steez TW ticking sound/vibration

Ok, no worries. Do you have a 7.1:1 gear ratio? Since you checked already each possible bearing. Did you check item 98 ( not sure what its called)? Its happening with the 7.1 ratio and the 6.3 ratio from my zillion1000 when i install those gears inside the steez. For the roller bearing, yea, its on...

Re: Steez TW ticking sound/vibration

Which part exactly? That would be item number 36. Its the silver long pin that connects both sides of the reel. Can't be the reason in my case since this part can't add any ticking vibration while the spool is under load. Hmm, would you be able to make a video? (Easy option since uploads here are t...

Re: Smoothest gear grease.

Krytox is too damn expensive. I don't want to spend a fortune on grease lol.

How about the Daiwa 104 grease? Is this good? Wanted to try one of these for a while, but never did.

Re: Cerakote Reels

Have sent one last year. Absolute nightmare. Before sending him the reel, i have asked all the info, such as the turn around time, if he sandblasts all the piece before cerakoting, price, what kind of cerakote paint he does, etc. Told me the turn around time is 2 weeks. Sent him in the reel, he wait...

Re: Recommend a Rod

An Expride with the action you need. Would never recommend anyone to get a Zodias. These rods are a noob trap. Light, feel good in the hand when you test them in a store, look more expensive than what they are to attract the eye, but the sensitivity is on par with some cheap crap from daiwa and shim...

Re: Smoothest gear grease.

I use ZPI Medium exclusively and I think it's really great for casting performance/distance, but it's nowhere near the smoothest grease out there. It's a tradeoff I'm happy to make - but if there's a grease that's just as performant while also feeling smoother, I'm all ears. Are you referring to th...
