Just send it back to Shimano for Platinum service. They will take care of the reel for U.

Re: CHRONARCH 50MG QUESTION
If U want 7:1 gear in this small size of reel, U may as well start looking for the Core 50mg7.
It's 5.5oz, 9 bearings. It will blow the Chronarch 50mg away.

Re: Need a straight forward answer
Wow, U went through 14 NRX rods replaced? I'm pretty sure that U make a Shimano record in their books. They should give U an extra free rod for all the troubles. I don't think Bantam will have the answer for U since he's still working for Shimano. My fishing friends and I use Gloomis rods exclusivel...

Re: Switch from Spinning Reels to BC
It depends on what U are going after. I'm using both BC and spinning.
For bass fishing, BC works very well. U can feel the line with your thumb after every twist.

Re: Need a new pair of Shimano Spinning reels?
There is a very big jump from Stradic to Stella.
Stella is like "Rolls Royce of reels".

Re: So what does tuning entail?
Tuned - normally means "clean all parts (dust free) and lube (oil on bearing, grease on gears)" Super tuned - means "tuned + polish all metal/bras parts to shiny state". Some super tuned will include replacing carbontex drag washer and bocca abec bearings (depends on the reel owners want to spend e...

Re: What braid do you load in your conquest 50?
Depends on what fish U want to go after, 10 or 20lb Suffix 832 will do the job nicely. Its for chasing barras less than 10lb and ocassionally peacock basses All from shore casting. 20lb would be over kill I guess. Its not meant to go snaggy areas anyway 10# Suffix 832 is the best fit and U will hav...

Re: Need a new pair of Shimano Spinning reels?
Stradic Ci4+ is a good candidate. It's the best bang for bucks. Very sweet reel.

Re: What happened to Shimano customer service ?
From your story, what CS should have done was calling U and giving U an option for an upgraded rod. I do not use Shimano rods (only Shimano reels) but I had good experience with Gloomis rod warranty (not sure if they are in different department). One time they had a backorder log of the model of my ...
