Re: Fenwick Boron X 6' Pistol Grip
Had a few back in the day, and was happy with the performance of the blank. The issue with them was the pistol grip. If I recall correctly, they were made by Fuji, or some other company. The handles broke at the point where the blank was inserted. This happened on more occasions than I care to remem...

Re: Curado 200 & 200B Metal Pawl Cap?
Hi Andrew, I routinely use the metal pawl cap where the owner is not fussed about keeping the reel original Part BNT0151 from the Calcutta 100B up to the 700B. The Tekota series of reels also uses the same cap TGT0522. Not sure about the baby Calcutta 50, but, the rest will work. Perfect fit ! Cheer...

Re: Bantam MGL Who has their hands on one?
They did the same with the Calcutta Conquest, with a screw holding the crankshaft bearing.LgMouthGambler wrote:Anybody else find it interesting that it looks like there is a screw at the end of the crankshaft and wormshaft? Did they do way with the C clips?

Re: New 2018 Stella FJ and Bantam MGL
18 bearings, quick change gear ratios, ambidextrous reeling, 2 gram spool that can hold either 40 yards of 5# or 200 yards of 20 with the push of a button, weighs less than 4 ounces with 40# of max drag and fits into a small or extra large hand. When do you think we will see one under 3 ounces Dan ...

Re: Part number for knobs.
The BNT4220 for right, and BNT4240 for left, are my go to replacement knobs for a variety of models.
Tackle Trap or Shimano should have them.

Re: Issue with 2016 Antares DC - What should I do?
There are 2 reasons this could be happening. First, the Anti Reverse Bearing has been contaminated with grease, causing the needle bearings to slip. Second, the Anti Reverse Bearing is damaged and needs replacing.
Check this bearing. Sure it is the cause.
Cheers.

Re: Curado K - multi piece frame
Easier to clean in that the reel is more exposed !!
Never said it was less work
I have more than a dozen of the old Calais' which take me a bit longer to breakdown, but, not that much longer.
If the K is anything like those oldies, it will be a winner.

Re: Curado K - multi piece frame
shouldnt be an issue, the older shimano reels ie antares were like this. I agree. Many of the older Shimano reels were like this. Calais 100A and 200, as well as the DC. Made them easier to clean more thoroughly. Yes there will be those that don't take care of their reels, so whichever model they g...
