Re: need input on 7'6" Heavy rods

Thanks for the input so far. About the Steez, I know it is much higher in price, but I'm really looking for a couple of rods. One for my primary bait, the jig, which I fish most of the time, so I would pay more for a awesome rod. Then, for the other deep bottom baits, a less expensive rod. Plus, I f...

need input on 7'6" Heavy rods

I have gotten where I only fish the Tennessee river and for much of the year you need a rod to handle 3/4 and 1 oz jigs and worms, etc. in 25 to 35 foot of water. The 7 foot'ish rods do great till about 20 or so, but I seemed to not get a lot of good hooksets past that, so I picked up a 7'6" rod on ...

Re: Im convinced micro guides make a diff, what u guys think

I'm not sure about the sensitivity since the micro's I've fished tended to be better quality rods to begin with. But, I do feel they allowed me a easier, farther cast. It really seemed to make a difference to me. I like them.

video on best way to remove hook on gut hooked bass

I have been using this technique on bass for a few years now and it works awesome. I ran across this video and it is something all bass anglers should watch. I was fishing with a buddy the other day and he gut hooked a bass and cut the line and let it go. As the wildlife guy says on the video, the n...

Tatula 721hfb

I recently bought a 72MHxfb and love it. I was wanting to know how much the 72HFB weighed compared to the MH. I'm not where I can easily go shop them. Thanks

Re: Jackall Adrena PA1610M

Glad to hear all the good reports. I was looking for a really nice jerk bait rod and this looks like I found it. I can't believe how light the rod feels. I haven't put a reel on yet, but the rod is light as air. Usually I jerk a while and rest, but this rod feels like it will be very easy to fish. C...

Jackall Adrena PA1610M

HI, I bought a PA1610M rod (not glass) off the internet for cranks and jerkbaits. I received the rod and it is beautiful and so light, but it feels a little stiff to fish moving lures. The ads say the rods are technique specific, so I was wondering if this rod was made for moving baits? I feel like ...

Lord have mercy! What a reel. I have a lonely Evergreen rod myself. I wish I had friends in high places.

Cashion 10xd rod, any users?

I need to get a rod for the big cranks and was looking at the Cashion 10xd. I don't like cork grips and I do like micro guides. I searched but couldn't find a thread with any reviews of this rod. Anyone using this rod? likes? Dislikes? Other input on rods you use for heavy cranks is appreciated. I'm...

Re: Major Craft is coming to the US!

I bought a Benyru 6'8" rod many years ago off the board here and it is by far one of my favorite rods for pitching beavers, throwing senkos, etc. I always wondered why they weren't more popular than they were. I wouldn't sell it for nothing.

Re: What's your most beautiful rod

What a question. I have owned some really beautiful rods over the years. How can I pick just one? I can't. I would say it is a tie between the Abu Regista and Abu Yabai. I like rods with a lot of bling, and they had it. A lot of rods have some of their features now, but 7 years ago they were ahead o...

Re: USA-RET and Reelblues go fishing

Well, I wish I could say I got it on one of my Fantasistas, color matched perfectly with an orange Pixilla, but I can't. I keep a few old rods down in Florida and I just switch over some of my inshore reels for the trip. The rod and reel combo was an Abu and Daiwa combo, though, and kinda high dolla...
