Re: What have you lost while fishing?

A lot of trout this past Wednesday but the one thing I remember losing most while fishing was my Tackle box when I was 15. At the age of 13 I saved so long to order my Plano 757 and a bunch of baits and lures from BassPro catalog. I went out on a boat and it fell out of the boat and into the water w...

Re: Casting Rods... What will you spend?

I will spend up to $500 on a reel but just cant go over $150 for a rod with so many great rods out there for less. More power for those who do

Re: BFS Fluoro vs Braid Pros and Cons

Well, I guess I'll play the Devil's advocate and say that yes, you should definitely consider using 6# or lighter fluorocarbon on your bfs worm/jig combo. It sinks, so it helps keep your baits down, offers slack line sensitivity for dead sticking wacky worms, and offers much better abrasion resista...

Re: BFS Fluoro vs Braid Pros and Cons

I think most people here know I love braid and hate flouro. If I use something other than straight braid or conditions dictate that I use a leader, it is almost invariably sufix siege, elite or pro-mix. I use 8lb Fluoro on my cranking setup and 8lb Mono on my Jerkbait setup but other than that I ju...

BFS Fluoro vs Braid Pros and Cons

I'm sure this is discussed a lot and I did do a search but didn't find anything dedicated to this subject. I have a few (To Many) BFS reels and I run 8lb PowerPro Braid with a Fluoro leader on all of them. Lately I have been considering running some Fluoro or even Mono on 1 or 2 of my reels. Whats c...

Re: Which casting Teton for bobber fishing?

Well I have the Teton Light, Ultralight, and the Super Ultralight models, the TTC-662L model is nice has a Medium fast action but might be a little stiff for your setup but I don’t fish slip bobbers so I’m not positive the TTC622UL is borderline noodle but I do like it for light crankbaits and jigs ...

Re: Which casting Teton for bobber fishing?

What kinda action are you looking for, do you want a noodle rod, fast action or something inbetween ?

Re: BFS Casting Motion - why not a full on 'whip'?

Ok You can wip it but you will have to have a very educated thumb or centrifugal brakes that work very well, if you crank up magnetic brakes to compensate for the initial burst of the spool with the bait being so light it will not keep the momentum going against the brakes so that’s why some say the...

Re: Your ideal BFS rod action?

I mostly use rods with Fast to Moderate fast actions, I have noodle rods and extra fast rods but mostly only use my Kuying Teton 662L and MC Benkei 65UL/BF both with Moderate to fast actions
