Re: Who is the MOST over rated ?

Another issue- who is Dobyns? I have followed bass fishing for 40 years and never heard of him. And, who is making his blanks? No information on that at all. Chinese made or Korean made with a bunch of fancy names on the blanks. Who is Dobyns blank builder? The best are in USA. We KNOW this. So who...

Re: Seditions and some others.

EG also has some outstanding solid tip offerings that I very much enjoy fishing. I won’t go in-depth on that subject right now, as there are so many variables I’d want to touch on, but let’s just say...they all have their strengths, and of course, a few weaknesses here and there. ...... aside from ...

Re: What's REALLY next for Daiwa

I feel bad to complain, and I know it is an easy fix, but do the 80mm handles only bother me??? I enjoyed my SS/SV and Alphas SV so much more with 100mm/90mm respectively. I do think that the Steez A was better suited with a stock 90mm (used on Alphas), but the Tatula HD handle I added with the big...

Re: Megabass MH Texas Rig Rod

How does the X7 Exreme Mission compare to the NRX 893, Nautilus, and Javelin? After getting my Nautilus I got rid of my NRX 893 and have not regretted it for a second. While it was slightly more sensative the XF action was just too fast with too soft of a tip for the backbone and changed from soft ...

Re: Fishing ole classics

The majority of my lineup is TD-Zs with some classic Millionaires and original Steez mixed in. I love the OG, but am expanding a bit this year to broaden my horizons.

Re: Megabass Alphas Ito

They are standard like the Alphas. The magnet assembly makes a great swap into the Zonda as the logo is still visible with the clear sideplate and it allows for a better cast in my opinion and the use of the Cosugi spools in the Zonda.

Re: Is a bent spool shaft repairable?

Pliers and a prayer. I had a ZPI 002 with a shaft slightly off kilter, would rub during casts. I straightened it back out with pliers and some effort. I made sure to keep a small rag between the jaws and the shaft to not mar it. Still use the spool and it runs fine. I guarantee I got lucky more than...

Re: What's REALLY next for Daiwa

Daiwa Japan website lists that all new Steez CT reels have 80mm handles. :( No surprise there Must be a pretty small reel then, to me the videos had me thinking it was for sure a 90mm from now on. I guess they think if someone can spend that much on a reel then they don't mind to upgrade the handle...

Re: ZPI Reel?

Looking at close ups. That's a Daiwa frame. TDZ type. It most definitely is not. Shapes wrong, front plate is wrong, sideplates are wrong. It's from a Chinese or Korean OEM, most likely Doyo. The hood is totally Daiwa, possibly even Shimano. Here's ZPI, Daiwa and Abu: As pointed out, its not. I hav...
