Re: braided line opinions

You will love the PowerPro - excellent braid. With 3 ft. visability you'll probably be alright with reaction baits - I might be more wary with slow presentations / highly pressured fish. Eventually the color is going to fade and you might want to color the line with a permanent green marker (the met...

Now, now.......I have some Made in CA Poe's from the late 80's that might disagree.... ;)

Re: Square Lip, Round Lip, Coffin Lip.

I take a bit of exception to the heavy cover crankbait rules . I do have the typical Bagley and a few other boutique balsas that all pop up like baloons when they hit something, and they work very well a lot of the time, whether round lip, square or coffin. That said, there's plenty of times fish do...

Re: Buzzbaits

You might just try making your own.......you can use whatever hook you want, wire diameter, blade, etc....it's really pretty easy.

Making your own spinnerbaits and buzzbaits alllows you to make the exact configuration you need for any condition.

Re: Your experiences with Bomber lures?

Re: Your experiences with Bomber lures?

I dig the Bombers.......Fat Free Shads in 3/4, 1/4, Flat A's and 7As, even some of the old-school Bomber crawfish cranks (they do still work).

Great designs.

Re: crankbait rod graphite vs. composite

I like graphite.........the first couple of years I got into deep cranks I used glass rods and Lews slow:1 gear reels until I finally figured out I hated using that stuff.

Now it's graphite and a Curado (and PowerPro braid  ;) )
