Re: Giving Copoly line another shot (sigh)

Red, I love that line quality- Zero or Near Zero stretch and its one reason why I love braid more so then any other line. However my Copoly/Fluoro use on my casters has been where I needed a not so visable line. Just use a leader - - the benefits of braid, and the invisibility of mono....also allow...

D Baits are killin little cranks

I also completely dig Catching Concepts FPC2 - one of my favorite kicker-finding off-colored water cranks. Has action like a fat lady chasing a Twinkie. ;)

Re: Megabass Z-Cranks

The old shallow Fat Raps are very good little baits, but I don't use them in the same situations that I might use a B3 or other wide action, tail kicking type bait. It is very effective when you want a tight/rolling type of quiet lure - - - and it will produce over other baits that displace a lot of...

Re: Megabass Z-Cranks

Well, if comparisons are in order - - I think people would be curious how well it performs compared to other square lipped baits like the (of course) Bagley B's, Lucky Craft BDS, etc.... I wold like to have one "just because" I'm a crankbait fan. :D GAMEOVER.....how would you describe the action of ...

Re: Banjo lures

The Slug-Go has been out since the early 80's........somebody decided to stick a hook in the nose and market the bait differently. ;) So, yes, I'm sure it would work - - as this lure design has been catching fish for over 20 years. Anybody else remember those videos of Doug Hannon showing 10 lb. bas...

You'll be happy to hear that the original DB3 Mag has been re-introduced to the Bagley's lineup.

Re: Deep Diving Crankbait

I'm surprised to see that no one included the Bagley's Original DB3. So many Pros swear by them and most will concur that every boat in the Tour has a few stashed away somewhere regardless of who they are sponsored by. They hunt better than any other crank and seem to trigger when nothing else does...

Re: Garlic scent jigs?

Anthony - - Scents only work when a bass noses up on a bait, and even then I'm not really convinced that they make much of a difference. FWIW, the Berkley Lab soaked sponges in various ingredients to test bass retention times for holding the sponge in their mouth. The 2 quickest ingredients to get s...

Re: Deep Diving Crankbait

Guys, there's a relatively unknown or forgotten Deep Diver that is VERY good!!! Shh.... Just try finding them  Oh they are avaialble, BUT, they generally always sell out very quickly and they are usually less than $5.00 each! Hmm..... This is a bait that I really purchase a lot of and store aw...

Re: Deep Diving Crankbait

It is getting close to that time. Anyone throwing them yet? Wow - - talk about a resurrected post! (I just noticed it started in 2004) My staple deep crank for fishing up to the mid-teens is a Competition Cedars 4400 (basically a Poe's 400 Plus). For fishing up to 20', the Competition Cedars 4500 L...

Re: Super Shallow Crankbaits

StringJam, I have never this bait before. Is it made by a custom builder? I must confess that while ordering some other stuff yesterday, I did pick up a couple of the Jackall Cherry Zero Footers. I will probably be picking up some Bagley's a little later this week. I have seen the Lee Sisson's at B...

Re: Bass Boat Suggestions

You MUST try these boats out to get a feel for what you want and what will work best for you. There is a lot of criteria to consider, and the best thing you can do is run as many of them as you can - as your priorities may not be the same as another fisherman's. I have a Bullet 21XD (21'10") - - - i...

Re: does ANYONE use circle hooks?

Yes - like others have previously mentioned, they work great for wacky rigs.

I also rig blade baits up (Silver Buddy...e.g.) with a single circle on the back. Far more weedless and solves the crappy unhook rate you usually get with blade baits.

Re: Super Shallow Crankbaits

Catching Concepts FPC2

Not a crankbait for catching dinks - - definitely gets attention in off-colored water.
