Re: Tat711mhrb v 721mhrb
I think the 711mhrb is for spinnerbaits/swim jigs, etc, while the 721mhrb is more for cranking. I tried to figure out just what each rod is for and came up with: 6101MXB: Weightless Plastics 6101MHFB: 3/8-3/4 Jigs 701MLRB: 1/4-1/2oz Jerkbaits 701MRB: 3/8-5/8oz Cranks 711MHXB: 3/8-3/4 Jigs 711MHRB: ...

Re: Better Senko / Soft frog rod - Orochi XX or Helium 3
I've used both DSS & EMTF for senkos among other thing. I voted EMTF. I prefer it over the Diablo for just about everything, though they're both extremely versatile rods. The EMTF is a bit faster and has a bit more backbone.
If the 7'5" length really bother you the DSR is a good alternative.

Re: Shimano Aldebaran 2015!
Anyone fished an Alde 50 and able to give feedback? 8-[ I've fished an Aldebaran 50 for about 6 weeks now and have been very impressed. Casting distance and on par with the Chronarch CI4+ and Metanium, however seems to require less effort. I've also found the SVS Infinity on the Aldebaran to be eas...

Re: Question for XX EMTF VS. XX DIABLO R
I've fished both rods extensively. Though they have the same power/lure/line ratings, the EMTF seems to have a little more backbone, however tip-wise the're very similar. I could only justify keeping one since I'm trying to maintain a "minimalist" approach to may bass-fishing arsenal w/3 combos for ...

Re: Which XX for skipping 5" Senko's
I own bot the FSS and the DSR. For skipping 5" Senkos I'd definitely go with the DSR. It's also one of the most versatile rods I've ever handled, so don't hesitate to try other techniques with it. The FSS is a fine rod too and can handle a weightless Senko, but is much better suited for moving baits...

Re: Glx vs poison adrena vs orochi xx?
I'm adding another adrena and Woukd have no problem adding another GLX but I was never sold on the XX rods but everyone seems to like them. Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I'm looking for more of a moving bait rod, so sensitivity isn't too important. Of these three rods, which is most comforta...

Re: Rod for rat-l-traps
I've tried a couple of glass rods and several graphite rods for this very technique. I too want 1 rod that will handle traps in open water and burning through grass well. The best trap rod in glass that I've used is the Dobyns Champion 705CB. The best graphite trap rod I've used (and still use) is t...

Re: Readdressing An Old Issue -- China
A couple of quality examples I can think of include Orochi XX rods, Curado I, Tatula. The Curado I is made in Malaysia. The Tatula is made in Thailand. Thanks Cal! I should have clarified that I meant to identify some quality Japanese-branded items, made outside of Japan. Not to imply that they are...

Re: Readdressing An Old Issue -- China
I'm fine with it as long as materials, construction, and quality control is the same as it is/would be if manufactured in Japan. A couple of quality examples I can think of include Orochi XX rods, Curado I, Tatula. I'm impressed with all of these items and have yet to see an issue that points to inf...

Re: Megabass EMTF
Just to add a little more on the XX EMTF, I absolutely believe that it is the most versatile rod I've ever used. I have used it for bottom-contact techniques spanning from weightless senko, T-Rig & jigs upto 3/4-oz, chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, lipless cranks, squarebills to 6XD's. Freaking handles t...

Me too. It's a little wimpy for deep divers, but for lipless, squarebill, & topwater it's my go to rod.cndbasshunter wrote:Crankbaits, top water, lipless cranks, etc..

Re: Shimano Continues Their Roll : Chronarch CI4+
I own one in each of the 2 gear ratios and think these are definitely my current favorites. These replace 2 of the Curado I's, which performed nearly the same, but were just too heavy for my liking. One quick question Cal. The photo on Page 2 or your review, showing the main gear stating" Micro-gear...
