How similar (if at all) is a Dobyns 705cb (non glass) and a St. Croix 70MHM (non glass)? I've got the St Croix and want to get a bit lighter cranking rod and just want to make sure I'm not duplicating rods.
thanks all!

Re: Casting Rod Suggestions in Sub-$150 Category
To add a bit more. Look at the TT tests on a St Croix avid mhxf and how it compares to the Loomis 844. Then look at the Tatula 72hf test and see the similarities between the three. A st Croix medium is pretty close to a Daiwa mh. I owns my Falcon and Dobyns as well, the definitely are a bit more mod...

Re: Casting Rod Suggestions in Sub-$150 Category
A 6'10" mhf Tatula is a super versatile rod. The 7mr you are looking at is more of a moving treble bait rod. I've fished a bunch of the Tatula rods and love them for the ~$100 price they are going for.

Couldn't it be converted into a free floating spool? Like how the Zillion is a free floating Tatula?

Lexa and Tatula spools the same dimensions?
Just wondering if the Lexa/Exceler spools are the same dimensions as the tatula spool? Got an idea brewing...

Re: Budget Sweet Spot... Casting Reels
Exactly what Finnz does, used TDZ, Fuegos and Zillions. Tat CT is the only new reel that is remotely interesting and with a ~$150 retail, but going for less than $100 on the bay and amazon, it's sort of hard to answer this pole. So within that vein... how about a "Legacy vs Current" test. A good con...

Anything you want to slow roll on occasion. I love mine for Keitechs and Chatterbaits.

Re: Shimano spinning reel sticking/binding
Look for tool marks on the shafts and gears. There's a seal that can deform/degrade that can cause the binding. Very common problem with shimano spinning reels.

Geatsets that are compatible with lefty TDZ's
I've got a few with stock gears and I was just wondering if I am correct that my choices are:
Stock TDZ 5.7:1
Fuego 6.3:1
The 7:1 one Tackle Trap sells.
Am I missing any?

Re: Daiwa Signature Series
...someone is excited about all the new gear! That's what hanging out with the kids gets you. One can only watch Casper and Minecraft so many times. One does not simply watch Minecraft. Play it. Regretfully YouTube (kids) has all types of Minecraft videos that they watch repeatedly. At least ...

Phenix Recon 764 vs 766 BIG difference in power?
I already have a Phenix Recon 766 and like it a lot and want a rod with a bit less power for dragging big footballs and Carolina Rigs. Is the "4" a markedly lighter powered rod than the "6"?
Thanks all.
Thanks all.

Re: Dobyn's Fury vs. 13 Fishing Omen 2 Casting
I like my 735 Fury way more than my 7'1" Omen mh. Fury feels better in the hand and is as sensitive as the Omen.

13 Reel... Handle interface?
Just curious if anyone knew what the handle/driveshaft interface was on a 13 Fishing baitcaster? Pure/Daiwa or Shimano or something else?

Dobyns Champion 735fh and 804c
If you have fished both... Are the Champion 735c (fh) & 804c similar enough that they could be considered redundant? I do a ton of Carolina Rigging with long leaders as well as throwing 4.8 sized Keitechs. Thanks for your time.
