Isn't Cooks custom rods in your neck of the woods? Maybe get in touch with him and see if he would be interested in some.

Re: jerkbait rod under $150
It is possible. I imagine the longer blank is a bit softer.masterbass wrote:Hogsticker, maybe that's why matt steered me towards the 7'1" because I specifically asked about the 6'7".

Re: Stradic CI4+ Handle Knob Replacement
Basszone has some nice aluminum knobs that would look good. Or you could get carbon to match the reel

Not a fan of Quantum reels in the least. My vote goes to the Pflueger. For the same money I would pick up the new Cabelas Verano

Re: Expride Anyone?
Seems odd to me that if transportation is the reason for a two piece rod you would choose one that disconnects above the reel seat. The handle section is maybe 16" long, so on a seven foot rod you're still packing around five and a half feet of blank Still don't get the construction being built for...

A few short posts ago I stated that I contacted on line dealers who's web site stated they had these in stock. After calling, they did not. I have now contacted 5 dealers who stated they had these in stock,...

Okay. 1st, why pay retail when it is available for less. 2nd, please refer to above posts. The folks that order direct from Daiwa ARE NOT getting shipments. Doesn't matter. Carry on

Re: New Tatula Cranking rods
I shared emails with TackleDirect, as well as a store on Ebay. Both had this rod in stock, and both told me it was a split grip. So, either there are two models which is unlikely, or the full grip was just on the prototype.
