Bantam I sent one of my saltwater reels (sustain 8000) to shimano back on may 9th , do they contact by email that they received the reel ? I haven't heard anything, is that the norm ?

I use Owner twist lock hooks and there saltwater ssw hooks , Gamakatsu EWG hooks and trebles.

I like the looks of the new XT it catches the eye , but for about the same price, I have a hard justifying it over a stradic fi or saros which both come with spare spools that are just alike.

I use a calcutta 100B for trout ,reds and snook.I'd recommend something with a solid spool..When using a drilled out low mass spool, saltwater goes from your line ,to the shaft then gets on your spool bearings..Saros 3000 is what I use for spinning in saltwater.

If your using shimano's try cleaning your stock bearings , then add drop of shimano oil to each one and reinstall bearings.Clean them in lighter fluid, If you know someone with a small ultrasonic cleaner thats even better.Works for me.
