Megabass Custom FX68 Spool (Purple)

I got a Megabass Custom FX68 purple spool this week. Can anyone give me some info on this spool as far as performance in a TD-Z frame? I can't seem to find much info and I can't find any for sale to determine the worth of the spool. Thanks!

Re: Luvias LT

Ordered a 4000 CXH JDM the other day. Does anyone else have this model? Is it JDM only? Thanks and best wishes on the water!

Re: What is Daiwa doing?

I agree with the SV105 reels. That old Alphas/Sol platform is timeless and quality too.

Re: What is Daiwa doing?

Hence why the SV103H and 103XS are amazing reels. OG Zillion frame with 34mm spool, aluminum side plates, brass gears, etc. Too bad they discontinued them after about two years.

Re: Luvias LT

What models are JDM vs. US? Are the 2500XH and 3000XH shallow spooled? I know the US versions of many LT reels have the "CXH" for the shallower spool. I see some on the JDM websites that say 3000S-XH or something of the like. Also, are the 2500 and 3000 the same body size with different spools with ...

Re: Daiwa Kage Rods

I have the 73MHF. Phenomenal rods for the price. Because they're only sold by mom and pop shops not a lot of people talk about them but I'll try my best. I've only handled the 71MXF and it feels exactly like how it sounds. A light Texas Rig, Jig, Weightless plastic, maybe borderline bfs if you want...

Daiwa Kage Rods

Does anyone use these? How about the casting rods...particularly the 71MXF and the 73MHF. Looking for input on comparison to other models in the price range and other rods within the Daiwa lineup. Thanks!

Re: Reel Suggestions for 754c Rod

SV103XS. Balances on my Xtasy 754C perfectly. Purple parts match too and some OG corks with a CF handle make it look great as well.

How are the spinning rods? How about the 6'10" finesse/dropshot rod?

Re: TDZ for Bottom

Its pretty unique in that regard. The longevity alone is impressive let alone the modifications. Is there any other reel with that type of record? [/quote] There are old reels still in use like the old green Curados for example. The closest one could be the original Alphas as they still get used an...

Re: TDZ for Bottom

I've used mine for bottom contact with 20lb fluoro. No problems at all with the drag (carbontex). It seems I get more fish with 6.3:1 than a faster reel, probably because it forces me to slow down. That said, I use my td-z's for ikas, Senkos, squarebills and spinnerbaits. Don't get my wrong 7-10:1 ...

Some beautiful reals posted so far. I’m not one to post much but this thread was too tempting to pass up.
