Re: LOOKING FOR Below 4oz Bass Casting Rod
I know balance is more important than overall weight but I do like light rods. Will be putting a daiwa SS reel on the rod I chose. It just sucks that most manufacturers don’t list their rod weights.

LOOKING FOR Below 4oz Bass Casting Rod
I'm looking for a Medium power Fast Action rod in the 6'10 to 7' range that's light around 3.5oz and not tip heavy for $200 or under, would like to be around $150 honestly. I know I'm asking for a lot but just wanted to see if anyone can help me out with some input?

Re: Gliss & Abrasion Resistance - adjusted expectations relative to other line diameter?
I think this makes lots of sense, Gliss is very good line when it comes to casting and I use 12# on my BFS reels. It definitely isn't going to hold 12 pounds unless under perfect circumstances. but if I look at it as a 4lb test line the strength isn't bad. Considering all this the abrasion resistanc...

Re: Who is the MOST over rated ?
Definitely St Croix, the cheap Bass X and Mojo rods are so tip heavy and unbalanced. The more exspensive models are ok but over priced. Oh man oh man! Not those! Kind of funny... right now on other forums are people posting photos of their rod and reel collections and basically what they have...

Re: JDM rod-which reel to buy?
I would say if you use 2# I would go with a 500 size reel I will link 2 below. Both nice just in 2 different price ranges.

Re: More Parabolic Punch Rod
I think a Daiwa Regular action swimbait rod would fit your needs. I personally love daiwa’s regular action rods. Tatula Elite rods are very nice if you like the look.

Not sure if the 6.3's are aluminum but I know the 8.1's are brass. From the looks of the weights I would have to agree with your assumption.abbor wrote:The 6.3:1 weighs 148g, 8.1:1 weighs 153g, does this mean the 6.3 has aluminum gears and the 8.1 brass gears?

Re: Alphas CT 70 in stock at Digitaka!
I have had my ACT70 for 3 weeks now and its very nice and feels great like I expected from a Alphas frame and it cast so good as well. I have it on a Daiwa Tatula Bass TAT691MLRB rod and spooled with 8lb Fluoro. I have been throwing 1/4oz squarebill and lipless cranks, weightless flukes and worms on...

Re: Daiwa 14 SS SV 103SHL Weak Drag
I had one and could never find a satisfactory way of making the drag stronger, so sold it. Shame as it was a nice reel otherwise. Its kinda strange how weak that drag is ? I'm not one of those guys who want a 25lb drag locked down to fish but this is the lightest drag I have ever had and i own 4 BF...

Re: Who is using BFS casting gear for trout/panfish
I just purchased the Kuying TTC-632UL and the TTC-522SUL rods. Haven't fished them yet but I can tell you the SUL is Moderate action with very little backbone (Noodle), as expected from a SUL rod. and the UL is Moderate Fast and is less noodlely if you know what I mean Edward How do you you like th...
