Re: Why are reels like golf clubs???

If you break one, your reaction after the initial anger is "whoo! time for upgrade!" Both take five or six hours to do, and don't involve women. Both are obscenely expensive and only explainable to women in either purse or shoe equivalents. Both often involve clothing that won't help you get lucky ...

Re: Why are reels like golf clubs???

Cuz we make them like golf clubs, but they ain't. You can fish with one reel most of the baits, most of the times, for most techniques. Of course, trying to keep a buzzbait on top is going to be easier with a faster reel than with a slower one, or said in another form, when trying to keep a buzzbait...

Re: Daiwa Reel Bearing Upgrade

If it were mine I would begin by the 105H, I own Alphas, Pixies and 105Hs, with better bearings the 105H could cast like a Pixy and moneywise you would have a Pixy with 2 extra bearings in the handle knobs, more line capacity, clicking drag star and clicking tensión knob. ;)

Re: Daiwa Steez EX Baitcasting Adjustment Help

I'm using 16lb Sunline Super FC Sniper and have mounted the reel on a MB Nautilus. The lures that I've tried so far are senkos and spinnerbaits. I didn't have an issue casting these lures when I had my Shimano Antares on there. The spool is rotating too fast huh ? ~X( I have enough Daiwas to tell y...

Re: Casting Help!

As everyone stated, it´s a matter of aerodynamics, compared to the plug the worm has the aerodynamic properties of a kite. [-( It´s just a matter of keep trying with diffeent adjustments until you get it right, also, you are not used to the reel, with time you learn to handle them. The Alphas platfo...

Re: Spools for shimano

I know the CU-CI 100 DSV spool fit the Chronarch 50 mg, that´s how I increased the line capacity of the CH50Mg, with a Citica 100 DSV spool.

Re: Help with approx. length/girth of fish

Next time you catch a fish and don´t measure it with a tape: As you did, use a known measurements object for comparison and from the tip of the jaw all the way to the tip of the tail lengthwise, For the girth width widthwise, from the joint of the dorsal fin with the body to the belly. In my neck of...

Re: Possible Curado I issue?

It's also not as cupped as his drawing showed. And no drag design offers 100% equal clamping across the entire surface. In order to do that you would need a piston type design similar to what we use in the Tiagra 130. The force is still applied to the center of the drag plate. You need a rigid plat...

Re: Daiwa SS SV Vs. Daiwa TDZ

I have several TDZ's and one SS SV. I think its going to take a couple seasons to see if the SS SV holds up like the TDZ's do. They are both light, refined, and palm well. The TDZ is more refined than the SS SV. The SV 103 spool is an amazing caster and blows the stock 103 TDZ spool away. The TDZ w...
