Re: TAKE A LOOK AT THIS...hope its just an April Fool's joke
Hoss05, You have a good mind...so you just made that up out of the blue? No basis...not bad. I really believed you at first then realized that Shimano is bigger in the US than Daiwa. And Jay/NC really added in some detail, even going as far as bringing technical stuff into the post from an "article....

Re: New Cardiff version 2 100A
I just purchased a 100A from Gander Mountain and let me tell you, the reel is a gem. The gear ratio is 5.8:1 and it retrieves 23" per turn. The line capacity is 120/12 which is a perfect size for bass. The reel also features 4 A-RB bearings plus 1 A-RB roller bearing which gives it extra protection ...

Falcon Cara 6'4" Spinnerbait Special v. Shimano Crucial
Okay I am looking to find a combo to fish mostly for smallies in NY and here in PA as well as other medium tackle applications. I have right now a Falcon Cara 6'4" Spinnerbait Special and like it. But yesterday at Cabela's, I saw the Shimano Crucial 6'3" rod and it actually felt lighter and more sen...

Re: Calcutta 100/150 closeout prices?
Look at what they changed the name of D*ick's Sporting Goods to on my above post. HAHA that's great! Anyways, I am going to take the reel back as I found the Cardiff 100A to be a better buy and a better reel. Call me crazy. The original price for the Calcutta was $169.99.

Re: Calcutta 100/150 closeout prices?
Got it at Dick's Sporting Goods in Dickson City/Scranton PA. I am gonna take it back now though because I saw a new Cardiff today at Cabela's and fell in love with it. Call me crazy.

Shimano Bantam 100
I have really been trying to find a Shimano Bantam 100 to put in a reel collection. I don't use eBay so that is out of the picture. I am looking for one in good cosmetic and mechanical shape to both be able to use and put aside with my other reels. If you have one in the 100 model, 100SX, or 1000, e...

Calcutta 100/150 closeout prices?
Anybody know any closeout prices for the Calcutta 100/150 since the new Calcutta B are/will be out in a month or so. Please include websites or prices if possible. I would love to pick up either a 100/150 at a good price. Thanks everyone.

2005 Shimano Cardiff
I was looking at the new 2005 Shimano Cardiff this year, and wow, for $99.99, it looks pretty nice. Firstly, it is made in JAPAN right on the reel foot, the older ones were made in Malasyia I believe, and the new model now has Dartanium Drag, and A-RB bearings. And for a round reel, the 100 size wei...

Calcutta B
Does anyone have any actual photos of the Calcutta B besides those found in the sneak peek on TT? I heard that the 50 size is already out and wanted to see how "different" they look aethetically from the regular models. Thanks.

Calcutta size...
I am debating what size Calcutta to get. I am looking at either the 100/150 and/or 200/250. Possibly even the new 200GTB. I don't know what to choose but I will predominately be throwing 1/8, 1/4, and 3/8oz. spinnerbaits on 12, 14, or 15lb. test. I want the ability to throw lighter baits but don't w...
