Re: Vintage Ultralight

I am unapologetically a huge Daiwa SS fan. My 700 just gets better & smoother as the years go by. From a strictly functional perspective it just does everything a spinner needs a to do very well - casts great, manages line great, superb drag and it’s durability is unmatched. It is a perfect example ...

Re: Vintage Ultralight

The only remaining item from my earliest fishing years as a youngster, early to mid 1970’s. Japan made South Bend 25 spincast. South Bend was a pretty prominent name in fishing back then, anyone else remember them ? 5AA4D419-EEAF-4BFE-B9C4-DCA7C26D2DB4.jpeg E38961BC-17B8-446D-B89D-9DDD22B17751.jpeg

Re: The whole BFS thing … meh

“ generally they are tackle geeks (like so many of us), who love using state of the art technology. Someone who can talk gear more than actual fishing.” That sums up my position pretty well. While admittedly not the tackle geek that many here are, I’m not an Ugly Stick/Zebco 33 Neanderthal either :l...

Re: The inurig

Intriguing ? Yes. Practical ? No. Think of the physics of it … you feel a tap and go to set the hook, which is not directly tied to the line. In order to get any tension on the hook in order to penetrate the fish’s jaw the worm must fully compress first. The energy of even the most “Thor Hell Hammer...

Re: The whole BFS thing … meh

I would say I am one of the most pro-BFS anglers out there. I haven't used a spinning reel (besides ice fishing) since 2015, and that was a dropshot rod. I will say perhaps some of my BFS stubbornness comes from me making BFS content on YouTube and Instagram. I do not let that cloud my thoughts on ...

The whole BFS thing … meh

I’m not bashing or criticizing it in any way, shape or form. I tried it, although admittedly never totally immersed myself in it, but it never really clicked for me. As it applies to strictly ultralight fishing I just found myself going back to my spinning gear more and more. Am I the only one ?

Re: Lure selection

What do you think? How have adjusted your tackle box based upon your experiences? I seem to go in cycles, my pendulum has swung back to the minimalist side for now. I’m back to my confidence baits (lipless cranks, squarebills, blade baits, tubes & flukes). I’ve been fishing out of a tiny Cabelas ta...

Re: Tacklewarehouse package stolen?

I've had Golden State Overnight deliver to the wrong address and only knew about it because i was tracking the delivery through the TW link and saw the picture uploaded by the delivery driver showing where it was left - at a house two blocks away! ... i walked over there myself and grabbed the pack...

Re: Kayak Cart

Maybe it’s just me but I originally bought a kayak for the ease & mobility that a lightweight platform offered. I’m not criticizing, but to me pedal drive etc just increases weight and makes it more of a boat than a quick stable way to get on the water. Just my worthless 2 cents …

Re: HOW TO post pictures

Never had issues in the past posting pics on a Windows platform. Now I’m on an IPad and having an issue. I use a third party site to downsize the pictures to the size limit allowed here, use the attachment feature and get them to post but they come out sideways when I post the thread. What am I mis...

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!

Had one of those rare epic fall days that I live for, the first day of a long overdue vacation. It was overcast all day but warm. This is probably my favorite fishery, a narrow creek that meanders through several towns. It’s actually a tributary of the Delaware River and shad are the main forage. It...

Re: Looking for a quality snap.

Saw the 25 size Tactical Angler clips in the clearance aisle of a WallyWorld - $2.00 for a 10 pack, grabbed 5 packs. Great find! The regular price of $7.99 for 10 is absurd. Quite absurd  That being said, I have literally hundreds of snaps in many sizes and manufacturers ranging from Alie Ex...
