Re: Aldebaran Tough to Dial In?
Traded my 50 after 2 weeks of frustration. Never had a problem with any other reel and I have had a lot of different ones.

Re: Light and Long Cranking Setup
Find a Fenwick Techna GP 7'4L or ML. It's a JDM variation from a few years ago. I've got the L and it's perfect for lures up to 10 grams. Excellent build quality and visually appealing despite being made in China. (as most of thier rods are) They were slotted right below the Super Techna at around 6...

Re: Fun new EG rods and other goodies
Looks like EG is revising the twist in the Kaleido series with the Quad Stingray 66ML https://www.lurenewsr.com/298802/2/ I've been looking forward to the Kaleido BFS rod, as I love my phase BFS rod and wanted to try their high end offering. Am I misinterpeting the article or does it say that it is...

Re: Phenix Spreads Their Wings Into the Line Market with Hydra Braid
Good to know that is seems to be a quality line. I'm always wary when a certain type of company (in this case rod builder) magically develops and brings to market a new product. Did they slap together a PE factory, or are they outsourcing and if so where and with whom? Questions I always like to know.

Going to be hard to improve upon the A70, that reel is the ticket and I'm not even a Shimano guy.Firstoutfisher wrote: ↑Sun Jan 07, 2024 8:06 pmI'd be more excited for a new antares. I've wanted one for a while but have shyed away from it because it is so old. I feel like the minute I pick an old model up a new one will be released.

How you finding the durability on them to be? As a terminal nerd with mild ocd I'm always looking for better ways to organize. I've had one for around a year, (think the XL) that I keep all of my small trout stuff in, (split rings, snaps, spoons, etc) So far it has proven to be a little tank. There...

Re: Evergreen Spider Spin
I really want this rod. I have been checking all the usual places for evergreen rods for the past several weeks and no one has these in stock. Was wondering if someone here could maybe help me hunt one down? Maybe I am not looking in the right places. I wanted to have one before next spring but wit...

Re: What's the most you would pay for a used rod?
I saw a rod on frakebrooch group for over $400. The rod was introduced in about 2005 by one of the Big 5 JDM rod companies. It appears to be in excellent condition. Not for investment purposes or antique value but to actually fish with. Just curiosity. Thanks What is the specific rod and someone ca...

I appriciate the info. Could you provide a link to his Insta, I can't find it.Hobie-Wan Kenobi wrote: ↑Sat Dec 02, 2023 3:45 amSaito is on IG.
I think they were referring to his older videos. He definitely was casting more than 4gr in most of those videos.
He recently been promoting the G411 quite a bit so, natural he is using it more.

Ahh good memories brought back from travelling the northern part of the South Island of NZ, some familiar scenes and Countdown supermarkets "Woolworths" ha ha they were great. Those streams were hard to fish, they run super fast and are icy cold, the river stones also give way under foot and 3 feet...
