Duel Hardcore Super 8 10 lbs ABS and FG Knot Test
I'm quite impressed with this line when I tested it. That's because it "feels" thinner than it really is. It is listed as .006 inch and it feels that way but the scale and line density do not lie. It's actual diameter is closer to .009 inch, like most USA 10 lbs braid that tends to break over 20 lbs...

Re: Fake or real line?
What about it makes you think it's fake? The diameter is 0.15mm, and the breaking load is 7.9kg... Is it possible? Yes it's possible. Fireline Crystal 6lbs is listed at .15mm and breaks around 16.55 lbs. Tracer braid or fused, in fact, all of the line made by Berkeley has very good S/D ratio since ...

Re: Light line leader connection
That is the problem I have been having with the FG knot and thinner braid and lighter leaders, it slips right through the knot. 10 braid to 6lb flourocarbon Hoping the palomar would brake before the FG knot. What brand of braid is that 10 lbs braid? Maxima That is pretty soft braid so it should hol...

Re: Light line leader connection
Before claiming how great some types of knots are, they need to be tested under controlled and repeated conditions. Please read aquaholiks very long thread on braid and knot strengths on SOL. Link? As mentioned above, the spreadsheet link is given in later posts of the thread. Here it is https://ww...

Re: Update on Shimano spinning reel binding issue
When you open the bail, it extends an L shape rod against the friction ring so that the bail won't slam shut during the cast.
Take my advice and open the knob opposite the handle size and make sure that the little plastic piece is not broken and that it is seated against the knob.

Re: Binding/stiff retrieve symetre 3000fj
Open it and check the drive bearings and pinion gear bearing for free spin. Also don't forget to make sure that the bail trip lever is free and clear of the rubber ring that is designed to prevent the bail from tripping during the cast. Had that happened to my Stella FD and I thought I had bent the ...

Re: Poor start with 2016 Stradic Ci4+
Need to buy a lottery with your bad luck with Shimano! My Fk is going strong after the drag replacement. One issued that pop up was the drag ratchet and support washer become dislodge. It was down for a couple of hours until I got home and fixed it. Can't fix it right away because of the tiny .9mm s...

Re: Spool lip diameter on 2500 size Stradic CI4+?
For Shimano, the 2500 and 3000 size are essentially the same with deeper spool in the 3000 size. It has been like that for at least the last 10 years. For Daiwa, the 3000 size has a significantly larger spool diameter than the 2500.

Get one of this to get the tiny screw shaft out. Search Amazon. All newer stradics and above use them now. It's MIP .9mm tool. This forum cuts off the picture. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v356/aquaholik/20160701_103242_zpsltd9lgje.jpg The torx bit to get the worm gear bushing is a t6 but the r...
