Re: SHIMANO 300 & 400 TRANX, Curado replacement

Not sure if Bantam's still active here on TT but he just posted a bunch of info on BD. Not sure of the rules of posting from another site so I won't put a link over here. And they're priced right too, as you hoped for Scoob, just under $300.

Re: Any Shimano Calais 100a users???

I'm pretty sure my Antares AR's weren't shallow spools. I never tried exchanging them between the two but I never liked the limited capacity of shallow spools so I wouldn't have used them if they were.

The 100A is the US equivalent to the JDM Antares AR.

Re: SHIMANO 300 & 400 TRANX, Curado replacement

One of the guys at a local tackle shop here in San Diego was able to see one of the new Tranx 400 sized reels coming out. Wouldn't say when they'd be available. He's a pretty reliable source so I believe him.

Re: Any Shimano Calais 100a users???

When I was bass club fishing, I had 8-10 100A's and AR's on the deck of my boat at all times. Regrettably, I sold or traded them all away when I stopped tourney fishing. Built like tanks and smooth as a baby's hiney!

Re: Phenix Recon rods

I have both the C713 and C764MH models and am considering a couple of their spinning models too. I have a JDM Calcutta 50B on the 713 and a 100D on the 764 and I mainly use them for inshore SW fishing. I DS with both rods but also throw smaller Big Hammer swimbaits with 764, I love the rods for the ...

That's a great idea as I don't like the look of the Hawgtech retainer either.

Re: Megabass Spinnerbaits?

IMHO, the regular sized Bullets are worth the $$$, I've not had as much success with the mini's, the wire used is different and doesn't have put out the same vibration. Having said that, the regular wire is prone to breakage when it lands against rock or other such coverage :crying: .

Sweet , I'm waiting for my C3000XGFi to arrive. The rod came last week, an NRX Inshore 882S.

Wow, very nice but I cringe whenever I see people hooking their lures to their reels, even moreso when I see such nice equipment as yours.

Re: 14 stella

Thanks Rasputin. Since they're not so readily available to handle at most tackle shops, I have another question. I have a Stradic 2500FJ, how much larger is it going to be than that reel? Based on the specs, wieight-wise, they're about the same (4000XG and Stradic 2500).

Re: 14 stella

CND, would you happen to know if the body is the same for the 3000 and 4000 and spool only difference or is there a difference in the body too?
