Re: Inshore Baitcaster for under $100??
My favorite inshore reel is a tatula type r, the original model not the ct and I barely spent over $100. Fuego ct can be had for cheap as well on eBay. I use an Abu 6000c3 for live bait drifts so your 4600c4 will work well from a pier.

Re: Reels Over Rated Or Under Rated
Underrated by general anglers would have to be the sv103, that's awful close to perfection to me and the fuego ct, hard to beat for the money. I find most Lew's reels to be overrated.

I'm digging mine even more now that it has megabass cork handles in place of the goofy ball ones

Re: Budget salt water casting reel
Fuego or spend a little more and get a coastal tws. My original type r tatula is still going strong in the salt as well.

Re: Who is the MOST over rated ?
I'd agree with dobyns as well as 13 fishing being overrated, I do love me some St Croix rods though, I've never fished with any of their non us made rods. I really wish falcon hadn't moved overseas minus the cara, the new lowrider series feels like standard Chinese manufactured rods with nice guides.

Re: Daiwa Coastal
Daiwa has had a few “Coastal” reels in the last few years. The Zillion Coastal is a great reel. The one based on the Aird was ok, but nowhere near as nice. The last one is blue, based on the Tatula, I love this one but I’m a big fan of the TWS reels, I had to ditch the handle though, this big round...

Re: Daiwa Coastal
I use one for reds and seatrout and it does great, my tatula type r is just my preferred reel partially due to it being on my favorite rod and partially because I prefer the flat paddle grips to the round grips on the coastal handle.

Re: Fishing ole classics
My favorite reels are the og zillions and prefer them almost everything else. I do love breaking out my old Abu round reels and old Abu mag IIs every now and then too. I like my tatula sv and revos, but they just don't have the same feeling fishing them.

Re: Daiwa coastal 100h
Is it the 100ha? I've seen them for less $50 but I use tatula type R reels instead for inshore use, the coastal 100ha have the polymer frame like the aird spinning reels and I was not impressed.

Re: An ubelievable kick in the teeth
I'll have to give my wife credit, after her mother threw away a box of mine with fishing lures in it, she sets anything to side for me to go through unless she knows for sure its junk.

Re: Ardent Apex reels...anybody use one?
I haven't used one but I thought they were Chinese reels not Korean possibly built by silstar. All of the non edge series reels are Chinese now that I know of.

Re: Daiwa Aird 2500 spinning reel vs revo sx30
I ended up with a aird 2500 and a soron sx20 for just over $100. The orra series has drive gears that are made of crap and don't last.

Daiwa Aird 2500 spinning reel vs revo sx30
I have found a deal locally on the diawa aird for $50...however I was considering the revo sx as well for $90. I need a new spinning reel for less than $100 because I'm waiting on both of ardents to come back from warranty work. Would the revo be worth the money?
