When you have your thumb on the spool after your drag is maxed out you still dont have any cranking power because the drag will still be slipping. So does that mean you ...

Re: Boyd Duckett talks about his Classic win and the Revo's.

huh what have I been missing for the past 20 years with my 5 lbs of drag (3lbs for a scorpion) or less flipping. 24lbs is sick, but ya dont need it to get bass out of heavy cover. ;) Maybe once you start having to drag BIG bass out of heavy cover you will get it. Flip some grass, then hook a...

If you plan on using it for worming I would suggest saving a little longer and getting a Magnesium or a Hel...

Re: 3 Knobs and a Reel

wood.....everyone "and their dog" has seen cork knobs, sure they look good but I mean 99% of the people on this forum who choose to "customize" a reel put on corks, they get kinda old IMO. Re: Braid/Rod action

I use 50Lb braid on my 7'2'' XXH for fishing in grass. I use more of a "pop" hookset rather than crossing their eyes. But overall I would say a softer rod is more ideal, it lets the braid do more of the work if that makes sense. In essense I think either use a softer rod for braid and let the line d...
