Re: A Message to Our Readers - Let's Tackle This Together

It is times like this where, the ability to read on new and through old reviews and articles on equipment helps to brighten ones day. I certainly have enjoyed this site and the connections that I have made with other people have helped me grow in a sport I've loved since I was a child. Thank you gu...

Re: More Bang for the Buck : The Shimano SLX DC Baitcaster Series

Cal, Why do you think this reel only has 5 ball bearings? I know, many years ago, Shimano said their manuf. tolerances were so close that more ball bearings weren't needed, but they now have 11 bearings in their flagship reels, so what has changed? Hi Mark, I reviewed this particular reel and can h...

Re: Anything but Ordinary – Okuma’s Limited Edition Chroma Spinning Reel

I gotta be honest, I like the weird colors. I love those special edition megabass reels with funky colors and wish more manufacturers would do it Yeah, I really wasn't sure about it when I first heard about it, especially the crazy color combo, but it has definitely grown on me. Hard not to smile w...

Re: Anything but Ordinary – Okuma’s Limited Edition Chroma Spinning Reel

If I’m honest I looked for it It’s sold out in the places I looked on it’s sold out at okuma website It is sold out globally, and it looks like most of the reels made it to global markets. I confirmed that Okuma US does have 50 more coming which will be sold on a first come first serve basis on the...

Anybody know what the guide ring material is for this rod (or if not, for other IMX Pro JWR's)? The material is not specified on the manufacturer's page for this combo or for IMX Pro rods.
Hi Bronzeye, the IMX-PRO rods make use of Fuji K Frames and alconite class guides.

Great piece sir. I'm getting one. Thanks. Ps: I think you also traveled back with a Complex CI4. I'll be interested in your thoughts. Well done. Thanks Travis, yup brought back a Complex from Tokyo and have been fishing it quite a bit over the last two weeks, and really liking it. The drag isn't qu...

Re: One for the Enthusiasts: The Shimano Antares A70 Baitcaster with MGIII

Thank you for the review. I will ask you to consider this (your own words) in relation to the many TT reviews: “It is always amusing to me when I watch some youtube videos of cast comparisons, or see arguments about how far reels cast, and whether one can out-cast another, and how max casting dista...

Re: One for the Enthusiasts: The Shimano Antares A70 Baitcaster with MGIII

Hard to please Danes aside  jkjk I thought this was one of the better TT reviews, possibly because I have been interested in this reel as my 2nd stab at owning a Shimano. It was great to see the internals and what constituted the 220 gram weight in such a small package. For me, I would be look...

Re: Small but Mighty, the Deadly Megabass Dark Sleeper

I am glad I am not the only one who looses them to underwater wood, I can't figure out why they seem to snag so often. I've had zero trouble with it in and through wood though I've fished the lightest/smallest version of it for the past year for River smallmouth. It careens off a mix of VW Bug size...
