Re: Small but Mighty, the Deadly Megabass Dark Sleeper

Curious. Question for everyone that fishes the Dark Sleeper. Do you get more fish when fishing the bait more like a jig (as I mostly do), or via straight retrieves, like a swimbait (as Wolbugger does in Florida)?

Re: Small but Mighty, the Deadly Megabass Dark Sleeper

I am glad I am not the only one who looses them to underwater wood, I can't figure out why they seem to snag so often. I really like the 1/2oz ones for fishing weedy and muck-bottomed ponds, they seem to pick up very little debris when fished on the bottom and they come through weeds very well. I d...

Re: Small but Mighty, the Deadly Megabass Dark Sleeper

Nice review. have looked at these baits for over a year, guess it's time to pull the trigger. Thanks BigG, yeah definitely worth having a few of these in the arsenal. When I first saw them I thought they were "cute," but they are mean fishing baits. Oddly enough that Pink is one of my top producers...

Re: A Mix of Swimming and Gliding Actions – The Jackall Dowzswimmer

Hi LowRange, Good eye! That is actually a Daiwa with green parts. Looks yellow because of the sunset and probably reflection from that bright yellow STORMR shirt. It is a JDM Daiwa Zillion 9.1 gear ratio XXH reel. I use that reel for some swimbaits, but mostly topwaters and frog fishing. Here is a p...

Re: The Yeti Panga 28 Backpack - A Waterproof Fortress for all Your Outdoor Gear

Looking for a waterproof pack and wondering how the zipper is on the Yeti. I had purchased and returned the Patagonia pack before the Yeti even came out because the zipper on that pack was a nightmare to open and close. It was incredibly tight and I had to pull really hard to open the pack all the ...

Re: Megabass Valkyrie Rods Take Flight with New Shielz Hybrid Construction

Do you have any insight as to why the rod weights are all over the place? (According to MB website) 7'2 Heavy- 216 Grams 7'1 Heavy- 183 Grams 6'11 MH- 197 Grams 7'1 MH- 174 Grams I don't get it?? I only was able to fish the rods for a few hours but I did notice the weight variance across models. I ...

Re: Megabass Valkyrie Rods Take Flight with New Shielz Hybrid Construction

Thanks for the preview, the rods look interesting as enthusiast moving bait sticks. Also, "he caught the 6.82oz . bass at the Lake of the Ozarks Big Bass Bash last month" Lol, thanks Lowrange, that would be a very small bass on that bait. Probably had bait weights in my mind when I wrote that. Adju...

Re: Shimano Curado 150 DC – Bringing Digital Cast Control to the Masses

I'm a little confused. In the article (I'm not sure who wrote it) the author states he was casting small, weightless plastics. In the merged Curado DC thread, in response to a question I posed regarding casting ranges, Dan responded, stating this was not a good reel for quarter ounce and under. I b...

Re: Shimano Curado 150 DC – Bringing Digital Cast Control to the Masses

The Zodias rods that I fished with the Curado 150 DC reels were the Zodias 610ML for the light stuff and Zodias 7'2 MH G Crank rods. The Loomis rods I used were the NRX 852 JWR and the IMX Pro 853 JWR. Switched between the rods trying fluorocarbon and braid, wanted to see how the new Super8Slick V2 ...

Mazel Tov! =D> Those fish look like a really big one would have no problem eating a scuba diver! Thanks Mark, really impressive pull on the end of the line. Never knew fighting a Goliath could be so fun... and exhausting, all at the same time. I bet! A 15 lb catfish kicked my butt, and I only fough...

Re: A Global Design for Enthusiasts, the Shimano G.Loomis Conquest Rods

Enjoyed the review. If asked what I wanted in a new premium rod I would have ask for full cork grips, great guides, and MBR actions. All winners on the Conquest rods. Interesting comparison between the Conquest's and NRX's sensitivity, no winner there. I'll be adding some Conquest to my line up, bu...

Re: What the Enthusiast? Keitech's Easy Shaker Worm

Everything Keitech makes seems to be of the absolute tops in quality. But, for my drop shot, I love a small roboworm and it'd be hard to change for something that might catch as many fish, with luck, but at a higher price point. I do love Keitechs, the Easy Shiner in particular. Brad I'm with you B...
